Chapter X: Prophecy

As if some prophetic omen had appeared to her, Senny looked up. The hood of her riding cloak fell down to her shoulders. She knew she was being watched. And that stare pierced down to the very bottom of her, terrifying and paralyzing her. Her body felt as if it were made of stone. She stood there for a while, looking up at that invisible stare until it suddenly disappeared. Senny gathered her hood and pulled it back over her head.

She mounted her roan hoarse, feeling slightly sick. As if the dizziness wasn't enough, the omen had to add an odd, sick feeling to her stomach! Senny dug her heels into the horse's side and began moving. She rode into the forest, still feeling the icy chills of the phantom stare.

If only Semiramis could remember… She paced across the mirrored floor, but nothing came to her. Alright, she thought, let us go over this again. As the Angel's hood falls off, I see… This is where the trouble began. She could not remember who or what she saw. The face was a blur. A familiar blur, but still a blur. Semiramis stomped her foot. The snakes flared up in a hissing fit, then calmed again.
