Senny vs Kifka
Let's just get down to business, shall we?
Place: There is nothing here but the blinding whiteness of the ice and snow--and the incessant wind. You double your concentration on keeping your plodding feet on the almost nonexistent trail. The prospect of straying out upon the frozen lake or into the barren wilderness strikes fear into your very soul!
Time: Midafternoon.
Sennymay: Well, this is it. I get to fight you, finally. What shall it be? Fight to the death?
Kifka: I really don't know why we're fighting in the first place!
Sennymay: I don't expect you to. You're too... nice. You never get mad at me, do you?
Kifka: Why should I?
Sennymay: ...
Sennymay: Let us begin! Fight to the death!
Kifka: That's a little harsh don't you think? Fight until someone gives up.
Sennymay nods.
Kifka pulls out his sword.
Sennymay pulls out her broadsword.
Sennymay: Ready?
Kifka: Not really, but if you insist...
They circled each other like wolves circling their prey, ready to attack at any moment. Sennymay looked right into Kifka's eyes, not daring to look away. She was ready for any move from him. Any.
Kifka swung fast and low, catching Sennymay's legs with his sword, sending her tripping over it and falling on the ground. (I guess she wasn't ready for THAT one... ::laugh::)
Sennymay: I guess "ladies first" doesn't apply here.
Senny got up and faced Kifka again. This time she made sure she attacked him first.
Sennymay lunged forward, her gloved hand ready to block off Kifka's attack, if he swung. She made a thrust with her broad sword, but Kifka blocked. Taking her momentary confusion to his advantage, he grabbed her weapon arm and twisted. Hard.
Senny screamed with pain and dropped her broadsword.
Sennymay: You broke my wrist!!!
Kifka: Oh, I guess I twisted too hard. I only meant to hurt it a little.
Sennymay stared at him, wide eyed. She recovered and took her broadsword with her left hand.
Kifka: You do realize that you now can't block off my attacks.
Sennymay: Fight! I'll win, yet!
Kifka shrugged.
Sennymay launched an attack on Kifka, her left hand a little clumsier with the weapon. Kifka blocked every hit, then counterattacked.
Sennymay managed to block some of the hits with her broadsword, but Kifka was much faster. He sliced her abdomen and made a painful gash in her left thigh.
Kifka swung and bopped Sennymay on the head with his sword. She staggered away, her head ringing. Her broadsword fell out of her hands and Kifka casually kicked it away.
Kifka: Give up yet?
Sennymay: Never!
She staggered up to Kifka and slapped him across the face with her gloved hand. Kifka momentarily lost his cool. Being whacked with a metal glove across the face tends to hurt sometimes.
Kifka: Watch where you're aiming that!
Sennymay: Oh ,that's right! I forgot that this was a friendly spat, not a real fight!
Sennymay stuck her tongue out at Kifka.
Kifka drove his sword into the ground and tossed his shield aside.
Kifka: Lets do it. One on one, no weapons!
Sennymay: Do it?
A crossed expression appeared on Kifka's face.
Kifka: You know what I mean.
He swung at her, but Sennymay managed to duck just in time and uppercut the poor Wizard. Her fist met his jaw and he backed away.
Sennymay: C'mon! Let's see what you got!
Sennymay taunted Kifka.
Kifka: If you say so.
He ran towards her, ducked a punch, backed away from a kick, and grabbed her around the waist. Kifka lifted Sennymay above his head.
Sennymay: Eeeeek!
Kifka: Shall I throw you or do you give up?
Sennymay twisted and turned, but that did little good. Kifka threw her up into the air.
Sennymay: Aaaah!
Kifka: (at the same time) Give up yet?
He caught her, as she was about to hit the ground and lifted her up again, ready to throw.
Sennymay bent as far as she could and flipped. Kifka let go. The Rogue landed on her behind, just missing a bramble.
Kifka clapped.
Kifka: Not bad.
Sennymay snarled at him as she struggled to stand back up.
Sennymay: You might have been holding back, but now's the time to take it for real, Wizard!
Kifka: Is that really an appropriate way to refer to your fiance?
Sennymay: ...
Sennymay: I don't care! Have at you!
She lunged forward, her left hand moving almost too fast to be seen. Her punches landed beautifully on his soft cheeks.
Kifka: !!!
Kifka: I guess having Rogue insticts helps one in a fight!
Sennymay: Don't talk! Fight, damn you!
She lunged forward again.
Kifka staggered back as he heard the Rogue Guild war cry. (Uh-oh?)
He didn't see a thing. This time she wasn't holding back. All he felt was excrusiating pain all over his body, one place after the other. At last he saw her, as she ducked down, and swept her foot behind his legs. He tumbled down to the ground, landing in a small heap. She jumped on him, her fist ready to strike him between the eyes.
Kifka didn't even flinch.
Kifka: Go on, it's what you've been waiting for.
Sennymay: ......
Kifka: Remember, those spells wear off after the caster's dead...
Sennymay: I ... I don't care... I dunno! I...
Kifka: ....
Sennymay: I can't do this...
She gets up and walks off, leaving the injured Wizard in the middle of the snowy fields.
Kifka: At least give me a hand, here!
Sennymay: Stop faking it. I know what you're up to. Get up, damn you!
Kifka sighed. He sat up, brushed off his cloaks, and got up to his feet.
Kifka: Nice try.
Sennymay: It really was...
They part.
The depressing thing, is... All this time he's been holding back. If Sennymay Megecan were to really fight Lord Kifka Flannery in GemStone, she would not win. First of all, his defense would be jacked up soooo high, she wouldn't be able to even bop him on the nose in her full offensive. Second, if he were to use any spells on her, which he would (being a Wizard), she would not stand a chance. Shield or no, it doesn't matter when it comes to magic. He'd blow HER boots off quite easily. Her TD is just terrible. And even if it weren't, a Cutpurse doesn't stand a chance agains a Hedgewizard.
