History:

Vowing vengeance over the bombing of his family's farmhouse and their subsequent slaying at the hands of a Nazi General, young Polish resistance pilot, Bart Hawk, created the identity of Blackhawk, and launched a solo crusade against the Nazi oppressors. Inspired by his example, more pilots joined him in his mission, forming the finest fighting squadron the world has ever known: The Blackhawks.

After World War 2, the Blackhawks went on to fight other foes such as Communists, and later Super Villains. This continued into the 70's when the Blackhawks went into retirement and Blackhawk, under the alias "Mr. Cunningham" founded Cunningham Airlines. It was later renamed Blackhawk Airways International.

In the mid 90's, due to Zero Hour, Zinda Blake AKA Lady Blackhawk was thrown fourty years in the future and stranded. Her first year there was spent working at Guy Gardner's bar "Warrior's", but eventually curiosity got the best of her and she went to check up on the status of the Blackhawks. She was pleased to find out many of them were still alive, but she also found out how very few of them had children to carry on their legacies. This discovery later led to her brief fling with a Metropolis based commercial airline pilot, Chuck Dillin, and her planned pregnancy that resulted in the birth of her daughter, Elena.

In 2011, the Blackhawk air service's Pacific base located on Blackhawk Island was assaulted by a terrorist faction believed to be under the direction of Kobra. With no super hero teams on hand to assist them, a group of the company's pilots, led by Lady Blackhawk, took flight in a set of old Blackhawk Lockheed F-90's and fought off the assaulting faction that day, with few casualties on their side. Believing there was a possibility of something like this happening again, Zinda and the 5 remaining pilots agreed to reform the Blackhawks and fend off any further acts of terrorism along the South Pacific region, while continuing their work as pilots for Blackhawk Airways.

While the other pilots took a more serious approach to the "New" Blackhawks and only wanted to take up arms when needed, one of them, Zinda's daughter Elena, was thrilled by the opportunity to be involved in battles and fights the bad guys. Elena was also the youngest and most naive of the group and because of this, the others, especially her mother, made it a point to hold her back from any potential conflicts. Elena was unhappy with the way everyone viewed her and the limitations on her involvement with the New Blackhawks. So, Elena decided that if proper training was what it took, then proper training is what she will take. Upon turning eighteen, Elena joined the United States Air Force, where she served for the next five years.

Following her discharge from the service, a more prepared and experienced Elena returned to work for Blackhawk Airways, as well as fight alongside the New Blackhawks. Much to Elena's displeasure, however, she quickly found out that the New Blackhawks disbanded. "With the JLA, JSA, Titans and all those other teams out there, the Blackhawks are no longer needed" was one of many similar reasons she was given for the squad's inactivity. Disgusted by this, Elena decided that if they didn't want to continue the Blackhawk legacy, then she would... even if she was the only one.

Powers, skills and abilities:

Blackhawk has no powers to claim. Since the age of nine, she has known how to fly airplanes. Since that time she has learned how to fly various sorts of more complicated aircrafts, from commercial and freight airplanes to helicopters to fighter jets, with great maneuverability and an excellent sense of perception. Her time in the Air Force sharpened her skills in air combat, as well in hand to hand combat and in the use of various firearms.

Equipment and weapons:

Due to her connections to Blackhawk Airways, Blackhawk has access to many different aircrafts. These vehicles are often linked to a remote device, which she carries on her wrist, that can direct the planes without being at the helm. When not in one of her aircrafts, Blackhawk always carries a firearm at her side. Usually and preferably, she uses pistols of a stun variety, which provide enough kick to knock the target into unconsciousness.

Personality:

Blackhawk may be perceived as more of the headstrong sort. She is very arrogant in her ability. Not to say she is one to shove it somebody's face and brag, but she will often leap into situations beyond her ability to handle...which could lead her to depend on her teammates to bail her out. She's a friendly individual, but may get worked up if a subject (Ex: unity, preparation) strikes near her idealistic core. Approaches her work serious in method, but is known to sometimes have a lighthearted attitude towards it.
