This is a ritual to summon the Watcher, which is a spirit that will protect you and your circle while working your magick. It is required that you summon it before attempting any of the following rituals (unless otherwise stated). The things you will need are listed below.
The AGA MASS SSARATU is a bowl made out of any material. Refer back to the Testimony of the Mad Arab (which I hope you've read before coming here), and the three diagrams across the top of that page (the pentagram etc.) should be inscribed on the bowl with a fine stylus or dark ink. The sacrifices required are new bread, pine resin, and a grass called Olieribos (grows int he middle east, but you can order it). These will be set on fire, and you will also have a sword with the Watchers sigil ingraved on the hilt (the symbol on the 'Necronomicon' page), for this is the focus the Watcher needs to manifest on our world.
When the Watcher appears, it make take on any number of forms. It could appear as a fierce dog, or a warrior with a mighty sword. Whatever he appears with, the most important thing to remember is: always make sure that both of the circles (which are drawn on the ground with flour) are solid, and have no breaks in them! If they do, then the Watcher will enter the circle and slay the priest. Make sure you know the incantations by heart, so that you won't mess up on any of them. Long ago, the Elder Gods swore a Covenant with the Race of the Watchers; and on this seal, there were the specific rules by which a priest of the Elder ones must STRICTLY adhere to. If they fail to do so, they are at the Water's discretion...and they're not always nice.
When the time has come for you to summon the Watcher for the first time, the place of Calling should be clean, and you should have the double circle of flour drawn around you. There should be no altar, only your AGA MASS SSARATU (with the three symbols engraved on it). The Conjuration of the Fire God is made at this point (See Conjuration of the Fire God), and the sacrifices of pine resin, new bread and Olieribos, and set on fire. Use this bowl for NO other purpose, save to invoke the Watcher.
The bowl must be lain between the circles facing the Northeast. You should be wearing all black, as well as a black cap. The sword (with the sigil of the Watcher) must be at hand. This is to be performed on the darkest hour of the night, with no light except the fire burning in the AGA MASS SSARATU. The following Conjuration of the Three must now be made thus:
"ISS MASS SSARATI SHA MUSHI LIPSHURU RUXISHA LIMNUTI!
IZIZANIMMA ILANI RABUTI SHIMA YA DABABI!
DINI DINA ALAKTI LIMDA!
ALSI KU NUSHI ILANI MUSHITI!
IA MASS SSARATI ISS MASS SSARATI BA IDS MASS SSARATU!"
This conjuration can be made at any time that your life is in danger, and the Watcher will rush to your aid.
At the words 'IDS MASS SSARATU' the sword must be thrust into the ground behind the AGA MASS SSARATU, and the Watcher will then appear, awaiting instructions.
This method of invocation need only be done once a month (on the same day of every month). A fresh sacrifice of the resin, bread and grass will have to be made. When you need the Watcher for any other purpose over the course of the month, the following invocation may be used instead.
You need to have the sword at hand, and use it in the same way as you did before (thrust it into the ground at the last three words). Raise the Copper Dagger of INANNA of the Calling (create a dagger made out of pure copper in the exact image of the one at the top of this page. The size doesn't matter, just have the right symbols on it). Pronounce the following invocation in a clear voice, whether softly or aloud.
"IA MASS SSARATU!
I conjure thee by the Fire of GIRRA!
The Veils of Sunken Varloorni,
And by the lights of SHAMMASH.
I call Thee here, before me, in visible shadow.
In beholdable form, to watch and protect this sacred circle.
May He of the Name Unspeakable, the Number Unknowable,
Whom no man hath seen at any time,
Who no geometer measureth
Who no wizard hath never called
CALL THEE HERE NOW!
Rise up, byt ANU I summon Thee!
Rise up, by ENLIL, I summon Thee!
Rise up, by ENKI I summon Thee!
Cease to be the Sleeper of EGURRA.
Cease to lie unawakening beneath the Mountains of KUR.
Rise up, from the pits of ancient holocausts!
Rise up, from the old Abyss of NARR MARRATU!
Come, by ANU!
Come, by ENLIL!
Come, by ENKI!
In the Name of the Covenant, Come and rise up before me!

At this point, the Watcher will manifest before the Priest and will stand outside the circle. To dismiss it, strike your left hand on the hilt of the sword while pronouncing the formula: "BARRA MASS SSARATU! BARRA!" Do not leave the circle with the Watcher present, for it will devour you at first chance; such are the Laws. Dismiss it, then leave.
