A close friend of mine, Jack Armstrong recently passed away. We spent a lot of time commuting to and from work together. Our conversations during this trip were always centered around the really important things in life, such as:
"Look at all the birds on the telephone lines!"
"Must be getting ready to rain again. Every time the sky gets dark, they sit there."
"What do you suppose they talk about all day? I mean it must get boring just sitting there."
"I suppose they talk about the weather a lot. Probably wonder what we talk about."
"I wonder if they ever fart?"
"What?"
"I said I wonder if they ever fart. All them berries and stuff they eat, they must fart sometime. What do you suppose happens when they do?"
"I don't know. Maybe they spin around like one of them pinwheels."
I've always enjoyed amateur cartooning and Jack was an endless supply of material. I miss him.
If you stumbled onto this page while surfing the Seabee web ring, and were in Da Nang around '66 and '67, Jack, a Seabee as well, was the lead guitarist in the "Pastels". I used to sit on China beach and listen to their band. Didn't know then that I'd be listening to his guitar stateside for many years after.
This is Dave. It's very rare that I meet someone that I dislike. Dave and his wife are two of those rare people.
Oh well, they're great cartoon material...
I guess if they see this, they're gonna be hopping mad. Oh well.
All of my sites are constantly under construction.
I'll add more as soon as I figure out where I put 'em. Thanks for stopping by.
