ALASHA THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

Aberdeen, Scotland 1551

....."I think it is too late, he has the Bloodstone," said Europa as she climbed out of the carriage. "Yes, he is coming here and there is something else too, another Elemental I think."

....."I would have to say that you are right Europa and I would further bet that that is it," said Silvae as she pointed to the disturbance approaching them. It was almost like a little tornado as the Air Elemental moved towards the Slayer and her group. The ground and dust swirled around it and anything too close would simply go flying through the air and come crashing down a little ways away with tremendous force. One man was unlucky enough to get caught in its wind and he was thrown with enough force to kill him on impact with the ground.

....."Okay, Gordon, any ideas on how to handle this thing?" Alasha was certainly not so eager to just run in and face a mini windstorm that would only blow her away. "How do we fight something we can't touch?"

....."Um, well we have to stay clear of its debris field and somehow exploit its weaknesses," he stuttered back as he frantically searched for an idea.

....."Wow Gordon, what a good plan and you came up with it all on your own, impressive," sniped Silvae. "Look, I am not a vampire, a Slayer, or a Watcher, however, I think I know a way to stop this thing."

....."Please do share," said Gordon amazed once again at how helpful Silvae actually was on this trip. "I think anything that might help would be more than appreciated right now."

....."It's rather simple, this thing is a creature made of Air and that is its weakness," she said noticing that Europa seemed amused at the banter between her and Gordon. "Its like this, Air has no real cohesion and to defeat this demon, we need to exploit that. You see, if we can disperse its body into the wind, it will simply blow away into nothingness, gone with the wind if you will."

....."Perfect," replied Gordon wondering if this girl might just very well be Watcher material. "So, now we just need to find a way to do that and I think that just might be easy."

....."I hope so," replied Europa as the Air Elemental began to close in on the group. "In fact, I hope you have a plan to do that now as it seems determined to blow us away."

....."Alasha, Europa, grab the blanket and use it as a scoop to charge the demon and use the air the blanket retards as your weapon, it may be enough to disperse the Elemental." Europa pulled the blanket free from the carriage and handed one end to Alasha noting that there was not a lot of room for them to maneuver and they were going to have to enter the debris field to pull this off.

....."Are you ready," asked Alasha. Europa simply nodded and the two of them pulled the blanket taut. The Elemental was only a few yards away now and the two began a sprint that was hampered by the air resistance on the blanket, which was perfect for what they were hoping to accomplish. Just before entering the debris field, the girls let the blanket have a little slack to collect as much air as possible. Then as they entered the debris field praying that nothing tore a hole in the blanket, the y pulled the blanket taut using their combined vampiric and Slayer strength to launch a missile of air at the Elemental.

.....The Elemental shuddered as the air hit it and the debris field faltered slightly as the demon tried to compensate for some of its lost mass. However it did not have a lot of time as the blanket them surrounded it with the girls still running forward. The Elemental was scooped up and with everything they had, the girls launched the Elemental up into the air, as if the two of them formed a human catapult. As the wind higher up caught the weakened demon, its form dissipated as Silvae had predicted.

....."It worked, I can't believe it," said Europa to an almost surprised Alasha. Silvae simply smiled with the knowledge that so far she had single handily figured out how to defeat two Elementals.

....."Good job Silvae, but the night is not over yet, we still have Demos to deal with," said Alasha as she shuddered thinking about how close the vampire had come to killing her and plunging her into eternal darkness.

....."Yes, you do have to deal with me and I am sure that your blanket will not be an effective weapon against me," said Demos as he walked on to the scene with the barmaid from the previous night as well as two more vampires. "I must say though that the way you handled that Elemental was brilliant, perhaps Silvae is the one who should join me as my chosen one."

....."So you brought some friends Demos, I didn't think you had any," quipped Europa as she tensed for the battle. "It is no matter, I will kill them too."

....."Europa, you are mistaken, you will be the one to die today and Alasha will become my vampire bride," he said as he gave the three other vampires a hand signal. They moved forward and then moved on the others while Europa moved forward to fight Demos. "Come to papa my lost vampire," he said with a laugh, as his eyes turned yellow and his forehead flared out into his true demonic nature. Europa allowed herself to likewise vamp out as she was going to need the aggression and strength of her demon side if she wanted to defeat Demos.

.....Alasha pulled a stake free from her tunic and moved in to battle the vampires that were trying to separate and go after Gordon and Silvae as well. She was certain that Gordon could hold off a vampire and maybe even Silvae too. However, if either of them got double-teamed, she was certain it would be another story. She was lucky and found that she was the one getting double-teamed while Gordon and Silvae each only had one vampire to deal with. She lashed out and kicked one of the vampires in the head while she spun to deliver a second kick to the other vampire. The first one tried to take advantage of her turned back and leapt at her like a wild animal might. She had anticipated this and turned quickly enough to greet its charge with a stake into its heart. It puffed into dust as she kicked at the other vampire.

.....Gordon struggled with his vampire hitting it and grappling with it but yet not getting an opening to drive the stake home. Though on the bright side, the vampire was not getting any chances to get anywhere near his neck. He noticed that Silvae seemed to be having a similar problem though she hauled off and kicked the vampire in his privates and then ran the stake through the back of his back hitting the mark as he exploded into a shower of dust. Gordon was not about to do the same thing, since his vampire was a woman and had no privates to boot. However, he kept her occupied as Silvae moved in from behind to finish her off in another shower of dust.

.....Alasha quickly staked the second vampire and was relieved to see that Gordon and Silvae had also taken care of their vampires. They were lucky as these vampires were newly made and still not accustomed to their new strengths. Now, it was time for her to help Europa and finally put an end to Demos once and for all.

.....Europa lashed out with demonic fury intent on hurting Demos as much as she possibly could. He had to back step to deal with her rage, but that was fine as he would let her tire herself out and then he would kill her as simple as that. He was a Vampire Lord, invincible and stronger than any of them could imagine. Europa landed a punch to his head, which merely caused his head to jerk back slightly.

....."You don't understand what you are up against yet, you do not even have a chance against me Europa and you will certainly rue the day you crossed me." He lashed back for the first time with a blow strong enough to throw Europa close to thirty feet backwards in the air. Alasha moved in to take her place being careful as Demos had beaten her before. She was not about to let him get the upper hand this time and she would stake him and watch his smile fade into dust.

....."Alasha, lets see what you have my bride to be," he gloated as she moved in for a kick. He merely caught her kick and through her leg upwards spinning her to the ground. He then moved towards her and she kicked from her prone position connecting with his face but doing nothing to slow him. HE reached out and grabbed her ankle and then threw her like a rag doll. She landed unmoving in the dirt and he smiled as he was finally going to get a chance to kill her once again.

.....Europa pulled herself to her feet and shook off the pain as she noticed that he was advancing on the prone Slayer. She tore after him, as she was not going to let him kill Alasha. However, he retaliated against her charge with a kick that broke a few of her ribs and sent her spiraling through the air landing on the stage coach breaking a hole in its surface as she broke through it in a sound of splinters and broken wood. Demos smiled as he saw a splinter tear into her chest and there was a puff of dust.

....."Now Alasha, there is no one to save you," he said as he gave a look at Gordon and Silvae that spoke volumes of the torture he would deliver on them if they interfered. Gordon didn't seem to want to get involved and he motioned for Silvae to stay put as well. She did as she was told, but she wanted to sacrifice her life if it would buy her a few more minutes for Alasha to recover. Demos reached down and turned over the prone body of Alasha so that he could get to her neck.

....."Surprise," said Alasha with a smile as she jabbed the stake home into Demos' chest unexpectedly. Demos howled and threw himself backwards as the pain from the stake in his heart threatened to overwhelm him. Alasha was amazed that he hadn't turned to dust and her quiet celebration had come to a sour end.

....."You wench, that really hurt though I am a Vampire Lord and stakes in the heart are meaningless to me," he spat through clenched teeth as he reached down to grasp the stake and pull it free from his heart. A shadow flared across him blocking out the nearby lamplight and he looked at Europa in complete astonishment as she swung a sword at his head severing it from his body.

....."I guess beheading is still useful though," she said as his body and head turned into dust. She bent over and picked up the necklace that had fallen when the sword freed it from his neck. She dropped the sword and quickly put the necklace in one of her pouches before anyone could see that she had the necklace.

....."You're alive," said Silvae as she had seen Europa hit the wooden splinter. Europa smiled at her as her response.

....."The chain mail, I has saved you twice now," said Alasha as she too smiled at Silvae who was overjoyed that Alasha was bluffing Demos and that Europa was alive and had come back at just the right time to save the night. "Gordon, I am glad you recognized the bluff as I would have been in trouble if you or Silvae had interfered."

....."That maneuver came straight out of the Slayer's manual, I guess the reading aspect of your training is not that bad after all," he said in an 'I told you so' tone. "Now, we need to find the Bloodstones."

....."They are dust, anything the vampire is wearing turns to dust when they die," lied Europa. "It is just as well, now we will never have to worry about them being reunited."

....."How about you?" Alasha not wasting time to determine if Europa was now a threat or still a friend.

....."I enjoyed working with you Alasha and I certainly think we make a good team. I am not that bad so if you can put up with me, I would like to keep our alliance and help out from time to time," she said as she thought about Gordon and the chance an alliance would offer her to get to know her favorite Watcher better.

....."Come on in Boyd, I think we need to talk," said Jonathon as his researcher entered his chambers. "There is more to these Bloodstones than I have revealed as I am not sure I want their full power realized even by the council."

....."Well, that does not surprise me as my research teams have uncovered so much folk lore surrounding them and the power they contain. However, I think from the look on your face that they just may be worse than that," replied Boyd.

....."I think they are that. These stones have five major powers that are activated once they are reunited. One of them is that it can create and open a Hellsmouth, which we already understand. Now, in addition to that, it can elevate a special vampire up to a Vampire Lord and Europa is such a vampire thus you can see why she must never get all five. But another power of the stones disturbs me, it can open doors to different times, it makes time travel possible and this is a power that if a vampire were to possess could be very devastating indeed."
