…..Silvae was the first to notice the water elemental and she screamed to Gordon, “I think this is a lot worse than just a werewolf problem!”
…..”An elemental, could that mean another Bloodstone?”
…..”Well, perhaps but I think we have a bigger problem as we don’t have Alasha here to stop it,” said Silvae with a hint of fear in her voice.
…..”That is true, we may have to fall back until she gets back,” said Gordon not quite believing that he was considering retreat. “Unless you can think of something we can do.”
…..”Well, it is made of water and fire is the natural enemy of fire so we could boil it away.”
…..”That won’t work Silvae. We would need an awful big fire to pull that off,” replied Gordon as the water elemental noticed them and began walking straight towards them.
…..”Okay, then there has to be another way. Come on brain. Think! Water, something to defeat water with.”
…..”I can’t think of a thing Silvae, my old mental well is dry,” replied Gordon.
…..”Wait a minute, that’s it!”
…..”What’s it?” Gordon was slightly confused and began to back up as the elemental was getting too close for comfort.
…..”Your well is dry. That’s it. My grandma once planted a pair of weeping willows near her well and they sucked it dry, they need so much water that they pretty well suck it from any close water source. Don’t you see we passed a good ten or so of them just over that hill. We lead the elemental there and with a little magical aid, the weeping willows will do the rest.”
…..”Your plan is so insane it might just work. Let’s do it!” Silvae just smiled back as the two of them turned and began running towards the hill with the water elemental following. Within minutes, they could see the tops of the willow trees and Silvae went over a spell in her mind that would pull off the required feat.
…..”So what do we do now,” asked Gordon?
…..”Well, I am going to curse the soil and make it unable to hold water, totally arid and then when the elemental arrives, the soil will practically pull the water from the elemental and the weeping willows will pull it from the soil keeping the process going.”
…..”You can do that?”
…..”Yep.”
…..”If you ever get mad at me, I hope I remember to lock up the garden.”
…..Silvae quickly cast her spell and as it was completed Gordon watched the land dry up and almost crystallize from a lack of moisture. The grass turned brown, withered and died leaving dry soil in its stead. The willow trees also browned and wilted from a case of severe dehydration. The water elemental paid no attention to the changes and walked onto the cursed earth. Almost immediately the soil began sucking away its water and in mere moments the elemental began to shrink and then like a melting snowman blended into the dry earth.
…..”It worked, I can’t believe it but it worked!”
…..”That was great,” said Alasha who had just walked down from over the hill catching the end of the elemental. “An elemental, that explains why Europa was here.”
…..”Europa was here?”
…..”Yes Gordon, she was and that makes me think that perhaps she lied about the Bloodstones and now I would assume that she has three.”
…..”I would agree with you on that. We will have to do something about it as we can’t allow her to gain possession of all five,” said Silvae.
…..”I may have to slay her,” stated Alasha sadly
…..”Yes, you may have to do that,” replied Gordon with a tinge of pain in his heart.
