Ride for Life

June 9, 2004 - The 17th Annual Ride for Life broke all previous records by raising more than $864,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event was held in Reading and Maple Grove Raceway, Pennsylvania, on May 1 - 2, 2004.

IAFF members, motorcycle enthusiasts, Harley-Davidson dealers and many other sponsors combined efforts to achieve the feat. More than 2,000 motorcycle riders from five Mid-Atlantic states participated in the ride. Ride for Life is the single largest Harley Davidson fund-raising event for MDA in the country.

Ride for Life contributions will support MDA medical services in eastern Pennsylvania, including MDA clinics at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital in Allentown; Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia; Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia; Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre; and Williamsport Hospital.

In addition, the event supports important MDA scientific research at Geisinger Clinic in Danville, and in Philadelphia at Hahnemann University, Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania.
