ROSANNE TELLEZ: I'm so excited. Willow, actress Alyson Hannigan is here.
LARRY POTASH: Hi Alyson.
ALYSON HANNIGAN: Hi.
LARRY: Now when Sarah Michelle was here, just when the show started her shirt came undone and she flashed our weatherman Paul Conrad.
(Alyson has a shocked look on her face)
PAUL CONRAD: (something) I want more, more, more!
ALYSON: wow
LARRY: She has a sweater on, Paul.
PAUL: That's all right. I can work with that.
(Everyone is laughing)
LARRY: You know, Alyson? I might want to stay with you while this interview goes down.
ALYSON: Wow
LARRY: Getting security out here.
Goes to commercial, and they show a clip from Earshot, when Willow is interrogating Jonathan.
JOANIE LUM: You know she fights evil alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar on the WB's Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Alyson Hannigan plays Buffy's friend and confident, Willow and she joins us this morning, we're so excited!
ALYSON: Aww, Thank you!
JOANIE: This is your first trip to Chicago, yeah?
ALYSON: Yes, and I love it! It's so exciting.
JOANIE: Do you have plans? Exciting Chicago type plans?
ALYSON: Just..well I want to go to the Art Institute.
JOANIE: Good call.
ALYSON: Just hang out. You know, see the city.
JOANIE: I'd like to know what it's like to..you've been an actress for a long, long time, but what's it like to be on a show that is so white hot right now?
ALYSON: It's amazing! You know, it's just..ah. I can't even describe it. I feel so lucky, you know? I have such a great job and get to go to a place where we just have fun.
JOANIE: Yeah
ALYSON: You know?
JOANIE: For long hours at a time.
ALYSON: Right, right (laughs) 14 hour days but it's JOANIE: You know how intense the viewership and fanship is for the show, the websites. You're a surfer yourself, yes?
ALYSON: Occasionally
JOANIE: So have you ever dropped in and checked out what they're saying about you?
ALYSON: Oh yeah (laughs) but then I just think there is something wrong with me, like reading stuff about myself, so I just go off to the next website.
JOANIE: Makes you self-conscious?
ALYSON: Yeah, it's like..I don't need to see this.."oh, she's got great hair". I'm like all right thanks. (they both laugh) You just feel guilty.
JOANIE: This is an up coming episode, I hope. The only criticism of the show is that sometimes you are in reruns...
ALYSON: Right
JOANIE: And we're hungry for that new show.
ALYSON: Yeah, but it just takes us a while to make all the shows and we get behind, but it's only because we're bringing quality product.
JOPANIE: Yes, they're all like min movies.
ALYSON: Right, exactly
JOANIE: So I guess I should ask what it's like to play with stars who are also pretty well known..I mean you keep seeing Sarah Michelle Gellar on every cover of every magazine.
ALYSON: Right.
JOANIE: But you're an actor in your own right, so how do you handle all that?
ALYSON: You Know...I mean it's...her popularity only does great things for our show, so you know..i mean it's not like we look at her going...oh wow..she's you know overexposed, or not over exposed, but you know..I mean it's just great. She's advertising our show.
JOANIE: Yeah, success for everyone.
ALYSON: Exactly.
JOANIE: Including you. You've got a movie coming up.
ALYSON: Yes.
JOANIE: Tell us about that.
ALYSON: It's called American Pie, and it should be out sometime in July. It's just a really funny teenage sex comedy. (smiles)
JOANIE: Oh.
ALYSON: Yeah, but it's really funny. I've seen it and I'm so happy to be a part of it.
JOANIE: Good, we will look forward to it.
ALYSON It's funny.
JOANIE: Well, since we're getting to know you...why don't we play this little game called getting to know you, since you're so game.
ALYSON: Okay.
JOANIE: And here's the music.
ALYSON: Wow.
JOANIE: You play a witch on the show. Who's your favorite TV witch?
ALYSON: Tabitha cause she rubs her nose with her finger to make the little witch spells or whatever. She's so JOANIE: Good answer
ALYSON: Yeah, you've gotta have the kid.
JOANIE: What's your favorite activity after dark?
ALYSON: Uh... sleeping
JOANIE: Me too.
ALYSON: Yeah..right.
JOANIE: What's Buffy's most annoying habit?
ALYSON: Um..well you know she always wears those tank tops with bra strap....gets kind of annoying. I'm constantly adjusting her shirt and she's like, "Ah Nah" you know.
JOANIE: A certain insider's game is developed.
ALYSON: There is a game that we don't condone because it has to do with consuming alcohol, but you can drink milk instead, but every time you see her bra strap you're supposed to take a sip of something.
JOANIE: Good Suggestion. Um, oh we had a special thing coming up but we have to go to the set for Larry and Roseanne. We have breaking news going on right now. (There was a fire somewhere.)
ALYSON: All right

JOANIE: We were interrupted midstream with our friend Alyson Hannigan who we were getting to know and I think everyone in the room was falling in love with.
ALYSON: (laughs)
JOANIE: We want to tell the folks that we're going to have special stories coming up. A whole day with Alyson in which will be aired in May and you going to do other interviews, so we'll be seeing lots of you, right?
