Chapter 8

"This can't go on forever!" AJ screamed, looking for a lightswich of some-sort anywhere. "It can't!"
"How much do you want to bet?" The doctor boomed, with a fierceful laugh.
"As much as you can cough up!" Brian said, looking for something.
"What? I can cough up as much as I like!" The doctor said, laughing harder and harder.
Brian found what he was looking for, and stood up.
"Show your face! You aren't chicken, are you?" Brian said, daring him to turn the lights on.
"No! I'm not a chicken!" He said, with the clap of his hands, the lights suddenly went on.
"I'm glad." Brian said, looking at him. "Neither am I."
Suddenly, without knowing what was happening, Brian threw a vase full of flowers at him, making him fall to the ground. Brian ran over to where he laid, and picked up the knife he had dropped. Brian, with full force, jammed the knife into his head, and quickly jumped back, in fear he might wake up.
"Oh my gosh!" Heather exclaimed, seeing him lay on the floor.
Before anyone knew what was happening, they were all out of the, so called hospitals, doors, walking home.
"I can't believe that happened to us! Why us? Of everyone." Brian said, looking around at the trees, and grass, just thankful to be out of there.
"I have no clue. I don't know what he wanted with us! We didn't do anything to him!" Heather said, looking at Brian.
They all walked home, and turned the Christmas lights on. By the time they got home, it was about nine thirty at night, so it was dark.
"I'm glad to be home. It's glad to be where we belong." Heather said, hugging Brian.
"I know, it is, isn't it?" Brian asked, hugging her back.
"Well...Christmas Eve, what does anyone want to do?" Nick said, looking at everybody.
"I don't know. What does anyone else want to do?" Howie asked.
"I have nothing planned." Kevin said.
"Me either." AJ said, looking around.
"Well, I guess we could just stay home and watch movies." Heather said, going over to the movies. "Or just listen to music."
"Yeah, that sounds nice." Brian said, shaking his head.
Without anyone knowing what was happening, the lights went out again.
"I'm back!" The voice boomed.
