Chapter 5

Kevin walks outside onto the porch with his coffee and coffee cup. He looks straight at the sky, and then hears commotion in the front, so, walks to the front of the house.
"ERIN! YOU HIT ALEXIS! YOU HIT HER!" yelled Vicki. "YOU HIT HER!"
Kevin get's a shocked look on his face, while he keeps walking forward. What are they talking about? Kevin wondered. Hit her?
Kevin walks up to them, and then they all turn around, and just look at him, and then, Erin breaks out into even harder cries and tears.
"Erin hit her? Like, with her fist or something?" Kevin asked.
"No...Kevin," said Brian, walking over to his cousin, and putting his arm around his shoulder, "come here."
Kevin and Brian just walk forward for a minute, and then Brian explains what happened. Kevin drops his coffee cup, causing it to break, and runs over to where his halfway, or all the way, dead girlfriend was.
"Kevin," said Jessica, "I'm so sorry..."
"It's not your fault," said Kevin. "What happened? I want to know the whole story."
"Well, Erin here, wasn't paying attention to the road, almost hit Lil Tyke, and instead of stopping, swerves and swerves into Alexis." said Jessica.
"Why are you making me out to be a bad guy here? I didn't do anything!" said Erin.
"Yeah, except hit Alexis in a car and payed no attention to the road!" Vicki exclaimed.
"Vicki, calm down...this isn't help-" said Howie.
"No, I will not calm down! I have known Alexis since kindergarten, and what happens to her, I always know! If it is bad, I react horridly...and I hate to break it to you, but, this is pretty D*mn bad!" said Vicki.
"We know," said Jessica, putting her arm around her.
"Oh my gosh." said Kevin.
"What?" Jessica asks.
"I was mad at her...I was mad at her since the other night's inncodent. All she was trying to do was make sure I was OK, but no, I had to get mad that I had a caring girlfriend. I feel like such a jerk! I was mad at her when she got hit...I can't believe this," said Kevin.
"That has NOTHING to do with you! Nothing!" said Brian. "There was nothing that you could've done to stop this!"
"Nothing except tell Erin to WATCH WHERE SHE WAS GOING!" Vicki yelled at Erin.
"Don't YELL at me!" said Erin.
The police show up, and they take down names, while loading Alexis into the ambulance, before driving off.
