Chapter 4

If you knew what I knew, you wouldn't say what you said. If you knew what I knew, we'd be together instead

Brian rushed over to Kat's house. He was so scared, he never saw Kat cry, not even when her mother passed away. When he reached her house he found the door was unlocked. He ran to her room and saw her sitting on her bed staring at a picture. He walked over to her and realized it was a picture of him and Kat. A smile spread across his face when he remembered that day.

"Brian! You know I hate to take pictures!" Kat complained.

"Please, for me?" Brian pouted and gave Kat these puppy dog eyes. Kat finally gave in and she stood there and waited for the picture to be taken.

"Brian, put your arm around her, and get closer." Nick instructed. Brian did just that. They stood there and Brian's head rested on top of Kat's head. Nick took the picture, and both of them were pleased of the results.

Back to present.

Brian snapped back into reality and looked at Kat. Her eyes were red, and the tears were still resting on her cheeks.

"Kat?" Kat turned around and saw Brian. She once again put on a fake smile.

"Hi Brian, what's up?" She said cheerfully.

"Kat what's going on?" Brian asked. Kat looked at him, and her heart began to ache.

"What do you mean?" She asked

"I mean why were you crying?" He asked sternly. The tears welled up in her eyes and she turned away. She didn't want him to see her cry…again. Brian walked over to Kat and sat down beside her. His arms wrapped around her, and she didn't know why, but she flinched. Brian backed away and looked at her. She looked back at him, and he knew. He looked at her hands that were gripped around her arms, like she was hiding something. He lifted her sleeves and gasped. There was a scar that ran up her arm, probably by a knife. He looked at her and she burst out sobbing. He held her in his arms and she finally let go. She cried. When she was finished Brian held her head so she was looking him straight in the eyes.

"What happened?" He asked her. She couldn't lie to him. She told him everything, From when her mother died, to when she was about to jump off the cliff, to finally reporting Jason to the police. It took her about 2 hours to tell him everything because she kept breaking down in the middle. When she was done, she cried every tear she could and felt weak. Brian just held her while she fell asleep in his arms.
