Kat finally woke up. AT first she didn't know where she was until she looked around. Events of what just happened went through her mind. She looked around and saw Kevin at her side, asleep.
"Kevy?" She whispered. Kevin opened his eyes and saw her looking at him.
"Oh good you're awake." He said and stretched. "Are you feeling better?"
"A little, but I'm still sore." She said and tried to move. Pain went through her side.
"Kat stay still, you got to keep your side at ease." Kevin said. Kat sighed and just lay there.
"I remember this all to well." She whispered.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Kevin asked
"Because I thought it would stop. And I didn't want you guys to worry."
"Does Brian know?"
"Yeah, I told him yesterday. Does he know, about today?" Kat asked.
"No, we couldn't find him." Kat's heart sunk a little.
"He left." She thought, "And as soon as he leaves, I get hurt, in two ways." Kevin knew what she was thinking.
"Everything will be ok." He whispered, "But now, we got to figure out some things. We don't want you to stay alone in your house right now. Maybe you could stay with Brian?"
"No." Kat said, Kevin realized how much that would hurt.
"Ok, what about my house?" He asked. Kat looked at him.
"I don't want to oppose." She said.
"You won't, please, I don't want you by yourself." He pleaded. Kat finally agreed and he called Howie and told her what was going on. Howie agreed.
*Two days later*
Kat was let out of the hospital. No one was able to get a hold of Brian. Kat was asleep in Kevin's guest bedroom when he got a phone call.
"Hello?"
"Kevin! Where's Kat?" Brian asked, "I went by her house yesterday but she wasn't there, is she over at Howie's?"
"No she's here. Where the hell have you been?" Kevin asked, a little angry.
"I was with Charise, we went shopping and stuff for the past couple of days." Brian explained.
"Brian, I think you would want to come over here."
"Why, is Kat ok? What's going on?" Brian began to go frantic
"Just get over here." Kevin said and hung up. Brian ran out of his door and jumped in his car. In 6 minutes flat he made it to Kevin's.
"Where's Kat? What's going on?" He asked.
"Kat's upstairs asleep. She just got out of the hospital." Brian's face turned white.
"What?! You've got to be kidding, why, who, what? What's happened."
"Jason came back." Kevin softly said, then Brian knew everything.
"Oh my god." He whispered and sat down. Kevin sat down next to him. Howie then came over. When he saw Brian his eyes narrowed.
"What are you doing here?" He growled. Brian was shocked, Kevin knew Howie was mad at Brian for leaving, and for being so irresponsible.
"I came to see Kat." Brian said.
"Why so you can leave her again, alone." Howie mumbled. Now it was Brian's turn to get mad.
"What's your problem?" He exclaimed
"My problem is that as soon as you set eyes on a woman you think is pretty you leave your best friend heartbroken." Howie raised his voice.
"Me? How can I leave her heartbroken when you're the one she's in love with?" Brian yelled. Howie looked at him funny and realized what was going on. "He loves her, but the reason he went with Charise was because he thought she loved me."
"Brian, she doesn't love me. She loves you." Howie said softly, "She's always loved you, you just never took the time to notice." Brian looked at him and looked upstairs. Kat's eyes were wide opened and tears came to her eyes. She ran to her room and locked the door. Brian was still in shock but ran upstairs and knocked on the door.
"Kat? Kat it's me, Brian, let me in." Brian prayed she would let him in
"Go away. Go back to Charise." She ordered.
"Kat, please, we need to talk." She never acted like this to him and it was tearing him apart.
"There's nothing to talk about."
"Kat don't be like this."
"Me? Your telling me not to be like this! I'm not the one who left there best friend for a woman who all she wants is your money, and will do anything to get it! She's the one who got Jason bail money!" Kat exclaimed.
"What? You didn't have to bring Charise into this, she wouldn't do anything like that!" Brian was getting mad.
"But she did, now who are you going to believe, your best friend, or her?" Kat asked
"You don't have any proof."
"It's me or her. Brian, you have to choose. If it's me then great, but if it's her, leave, and don't come back." Kat started crying. Brian stood there, and even though his heart told him to stay he walked out of the house, and out of Kat's life.
