"What am I doing here, I shouldn't be here, he probably won't even remember me!" It whispered but then I started thinking about the day I left.
Flashback
"Goodbye Alex" I whispered. He looked at me and couldn't say anything. He just hugged me and that's when I started crying.
"Shhh, don't cry Chrissy. Everything will be ok." He whispered. He then pulled out a small box. I pulled away from him and looked at the box.
"Open it." He said. I did and there was a silver ring.
"It's a promise ring, it's a promise that we both have to make. We will always be friends, and we will never forget each other." He whispered and a tear fell from his eye.
"Thank you." I said softly and gave him another hug. Then I left for my plane. That was the last time I ever saw him again."
End of flashback
I rang the doorbell and then I heard some commotion. The door opened and there he was, Alex.
"Hi, may I help you?" He asked sweetly. I looked at him and I tried not to cry.
"He doesn't know who I am." I thought, "Well, it's been about 7 years, of course he's going to forget you."
"Excuse me? Is there something you needed?" He asked
"Um…. I just wanted to drop off something." I whispered and shoved it in his hands.
"Goodbye…Alex." I started to run away crying. "He broke his promise." I thought the whole time and I ran.
Aj looked at the little package in his hands. He shut the door and sat down on the chair.
'Man that girl looked familiar" He thought. He opened the package. There was a small box and a letter. He opened the letter first. It read:
Dear Alex,
I don't know if you remember me, but I have always thought about you. I wanted to give you this back, for we both know the promise won't last.
Love, Chrissy
"What?" Alex asked aloud, "Chrissy? But the only Chrissy I knew was my best friend…….." He tore open the box and there it was, the promise ring.
"Oh my god!" He yelled and ran out the door but I was no where to be seen. He sat there looking at the ring.
"How could I forget her?" He whispered and looked at the ring. "I got to find her."
