Indy 4
INDY IV
Yes, there will be a fourth Indiana Jones movie. Nobody exactly knows what it is going to be about, but there is a rumor that suggests a plot line entailing aliens. The story takes place in the 1950's and concerns the Roswell incident. Harrison Ford is the only actor who has been cast. Karen Allen, though this is thus far unofficial, has been asked to return in the role of Marion Ravenwood. I have heard that Indy may have a child in the new movie.

Past Interviews
1997- This is from an interview with George Lucas:
Will you still do Indiana Jones IV with Spielburg?
"We talk about it once in a while."
1996- This is from an interview with Producer Rick McCallum:
How is the new Indiana Jones film coming along?
"Very well! We got the last draft about two weeks ago from Jeffrey Boam. We're all reviewing it now. It's going to be a fun movie that will have a whole different take to it."
1995- This is from an interview with Rick McCallum:
What's happening with the new Indiana Jones film?
"We just recieved the first draft of the script from Jeffrey Boam which everybody loves. Steven Spielberg has made some changes, and George has a few more changes to do. The script will next go to Harrison Ford for approval. Then it's up to the gods to determine when George, Steven, and Harrison's schedules will coincide. The project is definitely alive, and it's a good script. Jeffery really came through for us."
The most recent updates are at the bottom of the list.
In a March 24, 1997 interview, Barbara Walters asked Harrison Ford, "Would you play Indiana Jones again?" He responded, "In a New York minute... It's a question of Steven Spielberg and I finding a slot that we have in common."
The March issue of Sci-Fi Universe says that a shooting script for the fourth Indy installment has been approved by Ford, Lucas, and Spielberg, but they are all busy on other projects, leaving the status of the movie uncertain.
Prepare to begin hearing news on Indiana Jones 4. Lucas, Ford, Connery and Spielberg will be sitting down for a chat next month in London to discuss that film exactly. No it is not Sons of Darkness or a variation on that. This one has a bad Jones brother (younger than Indy) possibly to be played by... (gulp) Kevin Costner. God please prevent that. Why London? Well, first off Lucas is readying the Prequels there, Spielberg is readying SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, Connery calls the Isle his own, so that only leaves New World landlocked Ford to hop the concorde out there. Also in addition to this report I can add that John Williams evidently was seen relatively recently jump up and down during a telephone conversation all excited. When he was asked what it was, he said "a fourth Indy!" with a smile spread across his face.
Excerpt from Parade magazine's "In Step With..." section by James Brady -- "First the news: Yes, there will be another "Indiana Jones" movie. And you can go to the bank on that, because my source is Mrs. Steven Spielberg, the actress Kate Capshaw--wife of the directing genius and herself the heroine of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. "Oh yeah," she told me, "all the girls [heroines of the three Indy films] are lobbying to be in it."
According to reports, Galoob has been asked to make Indy action figures for Indy IV. If this is true we may see the a fourth Indiana Jones film sometime in the next few years.
Early this year, the Dutch magazine, SUM (Specifiek Universitair Magazine), ran an interview with Rick McCallum. The article revealed some new Indy info. He says they expect to make Indy IV in 2000 at the latest.
A new rumor has stepped into the scene, this time at CINESCAPE ONLINE. A person reported that the fourth installment of the Indy films will be titled Indiana Jones: The Law of One.The story is that Indy is on a search for the powerful object that destroyed Atlantis.
On June 1, 1998 Harrison Ford was a guest on the Rosie O'Donnell Show. When asked about starring in a new Indiana Jones film, he said that he'd love to, but there is no new script currently in the works. He also said there hasn't been one for five years, but in this, he was mistaken. Jeffery Boam had written one just two years ago!
NEW
This last 4th of July weekend Cinescape reported that Steven Spielburg finally has the plot for Indy IV worked out and that filming could begin as soon as the summer of 2000. The film will have Sean, once again, starring as Henry Jones Sr. This is the is the most positive news we've gotten for a long time.
