President’s Message
It is with sadness that announce that Dr. Mark Souza passed away on OCtober 15th. Mark was in the basic class, having joined the club last year after the October Show.
We had the most successful show financially in the club's history. Tom Fong will give a recap at the November meeting. The member participation was excellent with many of our newer members pitching in to help. This year we had 25 new members in the club who were experiencing their first October Show. The generosity of the members with regards to the plant sale tree donations and food for the hospitality room all combined to make this a great show. A special thanks to the show chairs and committee heads for their dedication and hard work and to the members as well.
If anyone has suggestions for next year's show, let one of the board members or committee heads know.
In the November and December board meetings, we will be preparing the schedule of club activities for the Year 2001. Let the board members know if you have any suggestions
The Bonsai Exhibit at the Danville Fine Arts Gallery ended on October 21st. Thanks to Norm Wanek, Gale Newcomb, Bernie and Mineko Montoya for showing their trees.
In the future please call Tom Fong at (925) 825-9737 if you change your address, e-mail or telephone number so that the club roster can be kept up to date.
