September Meetings:
NOTE CHANGE IN OCTOBER MEETINGS,
Club meetings are in the Rotary Room of the Heather Farms Garden Center,Walnut Creek, on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM. The Rotary Room is on the lower level of the Garden Center. A ramp leading to the lower level is to the left of the Main Building Entrance off the parking lot. We are able to provide vehicular access to the lower level for a few members who may be disabled or have very large trees to carry in to the meetings.
Meetings will start promptly at 7:30PM with a brief business meeting, and will end at 9:30PM. Please be ready to meet at 7:30PM.
Bring plant material appropriate to the class topic for the workshop. Working on the tree in the style discussed aids in understanding the lecture and the style.

Wednesday - Sep 21st - Intermediate Class Meeting. 7:30 - 9:30PM. Lecture 7:30-8:00PM - Feeding in the Fall and Preparation for Winter. 8:00-9:30PM Workshop. Refreshments - Jim Merrill. Assist with close Nick Nickleson.
From the President:
In October we will have a single joint meeting on the third Wednesday (Oct. 19). This is a change from the originally scheduled normal two meetings because Kay will be out of town on the regular Basic meeting evening. In November we will have the regular two meetings, then in December there will be a joint meeting on Dec. 14, the second Wednesday, as originally scheduled. Kay has asked that at the October meeting everyone bring their donation plants for the Show next April so he can review them.
VERY IMPORTANT, We will vote at the December meeting for new Cub Officers for the 2006 year. Most of the current officers have been in their positions for an unusually long time. In my case it will be four years next spring, whereas the usual period in office is one year. Now it is time for others to step forward to take some of the responsibility. We have four positions to fill:
President- Presides at the Board meetings and handles administrative matters not specified for the other offices.
1st Vice President - Presides in the absence of the President. Assists with programming and membership matters.
Treasurer- Handles the receipt of income, writes checks for expenses, records all financial transactions and maintains the Clubs financial records.
Recording/Corresponding Secretary- Takes notes at the Board meetings and publishes them to the Board and membership, maintains the Board records and handles the Club correspondence.
Newsletter Editor- Prepares the monthly Club newsletter and sends it to the members and maintains the Club Website.
We need you to volunteer. Contact any member of the Board by November, at the latest, to express your preference or ask questions about the positions. We know everyone has limits on their time but the club cannot continue to function without the efforts of everyone.
