October Meetings

All 2006 meetings will be Joint meetings and will be in the large upstairs room at the Heather Farm Garden Center, Walnut Creek. Meetings are scheduled on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.

Meetings start at 7:30PM with a brief business meeting, and end at 9:30PM.
Please be ready to meet at 7:30PM.

Tuesday - October 3rd, 7:30PM, Board Meeting, Charlotte Wood School, Danville.

Wednesday, October 18 - 7:30pm. Joint Class Meeting.
                                          Lecture 7:30-8:00pm - Bunjin style. .
                                          Workshop 8:00 - 9:30.
                                          Refreshments and help with cleanup and close: Barbara Richards and Sylvia Roemer.

Saturday, October 21st. Tasssajara Nursery, 9:30-11:30am, Workshop, Bring trees for guidance and review. This is a special opportunity to get extra help and guidance from our Sensei, 'K' Akabane.

From the President:

In our December meeting we will elect new officers for your Club Board of Directors. Steve Huskins will step up to the Office of President. We will need volunteers or nominations for the office of First Vice President. The offices of Secretary and Treasurer also will need to be filled. For the Treasurer it is important to have access to a computer as the historic data and forms are stored in electronic media.
We are calling on the membership for nominations, or volunteers to fill the offices, critical to keeping the Club running.

Wednesday, November 15th. 7:30PM. Joint Class Meeting. Lecture: Preparing bonsai for winter. 8:00PM Workshop. Refeshments Jim Stalker and Norm Wanek.

Saturday, October 7, Salinas,Salinas Bonsai Club Annual Bonsai Show at the Lincoln Avenue Presbyterian Church, 536 Lincoln Ave. Show hours are 11AM-4PM. Demonstration at 1:30PM by Katsumi Kinoshita.

Saturday and Sunday, October 14 - 15, Oakland, Lakeside Garden Center, 666 Bellevue. East Bay Bonsai Society, 45th Annual Bonsai Show. Saturday 10-5pm, Sunday 11-4:30pm. Demonstration Sunday by Dave DeGroot.

October 21-22, Hayward Yamato Bonsai Kai 35th Annual Bonsai Exhibition at the Centennial Hall, 22292 Foothill Blvd. Show hours are Saturday 10AM-5PM and Sunday 10AM-4PM. Demonstration at 1PM both days by Johnny Uchida with Tony Hayworth and Mike Baker.
