June Meetings

NOTE: CHANGE IN MEETINGS. Basic Class will continue to meet on the 3rd Wednesday and the Intermediate Class will now meet the 4th Wednesday of each month. There will be no meetings in August.

Meetings are held in the large upstairs room at the Heather Farm Garden Center, Walnut Creek, and are scheduled on the 3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.  Meetings start at 7:30PM with a brief business meeting, and end at 9:30PM.
Please be ready to meet at 7:30PM.

Saturday, July 14th - 9:00am. Workshop. Tassajara Nursery.  See the "Notes" section for details.

Wednesday, 18th - 7:30pm. Basic Class Meeting.
                                          Lecture 7:30-8:00pm - Topic to be announced.
                                          Workshop 8:00 - 9:30.
                                          Refreshments and help with cleanup and close: Bill & Joan Pangburn.

Wednesday, June 25th - 7:30pm. Intermediate Class Meeting.
                                          Lecture 7:30-8:00pm - Topic to be announced.
                                          Workshop 8:00 - 9:30.

 Notes

Welcome to our new Members: We had two new members join in December 2006, and five more in 2007. Please make welcome - Dick Hipskind, Ted Holmsen, Brian and Connie Kelly, Ken Mc Millan,  Brian Rasmussen and Barbara Sampson.

Workshop:  Saturday July 14th: We will hold a club workshop on July 14 at 9:00am at the Tassajara Nursery.  The format will be the same as our Winter potting sessions (though with no repotting, of course).  Bring any of your trees to work on, and receive advice from the Sensei and other members. This would be a great chance to develop your donation trees for the Spring Show!

Spring Show 2008 - April 4-6:  It may seem like we just tore down the backdrops and tables at our 2007 show, but the planning for 2008 has already begun!  There are two areas you, as a member, should now consider:

• Which committee can I chair (or at least help out with)?  We will need an overall Show Chair, and leaders in the following committees: Publicity, Construction, Hospitality (food), Sales, Display, Education, Security/Raffle, Greeting.
• Will my donation trees be ready for the show plant sale only nine months from now?  Maybe they should come to the workshop on July 14th!
