Meeting Dates for 2009 - For 2009, the club will hold Joint Class meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. To allow K to address a lecture to both the basic and intermediate members, there will be a basic level lecture at 7:00, and an intermediate level lecture at 7:30. Basic members should arrive before 7:00; intermediate members should arrive either before 7:00 or between 7:20 and 7:30. Please do not arrive between 7:00 and 7:20, when you would disturb the basic lecture.
Field Trip to Sumigawa and Lone Pine Nurseries - We are planning a field trip to these two bonsai-specialty nurseries in Sonoma County on Saturday, January 10th. Please plan on attending if at all possible, particularly if you are a basic member. You will have the opportunity to see a lot, learn a lot, and bring back material not readily available closer to home. See the enclosed flyer for trip details. RSVP to Steve Huskins at (925) 937-4216. If you are interested in participating in a carpool (driving or riding), let Steve know that as well.
Potting Session - We will hold the first of our annual potting sessions at the Tassajara Nursery on Saturday, January 17th at 9:30am. (Yes, the busy season for bonsai has begun!) It's another don't-miss event. Bring your trees, tools, and pots; potting medium will be available from the club for a small charge. Members' trees only, please.
