Odie is a dog that lives with Garfield and Jon. In the original comic strips back in 1978 Odie belonged to Jon's roommate, Lyman.
When Lyman left the strip though, Odie stayed with Garfield. Odie is dumber than a doorknob but he's still a lovable canine.
