NEW Grand Toys International has agreed to pay about $2 million to settle a class-action lawsuit. In August 1999, the company claimed that it had exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute Pokémon merchandise in Canada, which it does not. Their stock skyrocketed, but tumbled when they issued a press release that their rights were not exclusive. Their stock is currently worth next-to-nothing. The company itself has lost a lot of money over the last two years, from both Pokémon's fall in popularity and losing the ownership rights of Furby.
NEW A horse named "Diglett," after the Pokémon, won the Washington Owners Breeders' Cup Handicap at Emerald Downs.
