Chapter 11

A Few Days Later

It's was now Saterday, the day of The Backstreet Boys last concert, ever. Desteny, Melody and Lacey had made the long trip to Toronto from Orlando and were walking into the stadium with Jem and Tyler.

"Do you think anyone will reconize us?" asked Lacey nervously. The girls had been seen with the guys before and the fans might have remembered their faces.

"I hope not. They might start asking questions about Jem and Tyler," said Desteny, looking down at Jem in her arms while Melody carried Tyler.

"Let's just get backstage where we're safe," suggested Melody.

As the girls walked through the stadium, there was a sad, excited feeling coming from the fans already there. After the guys had announced that this was their last concert, the last few tickets that had not been sold already, were gone at a record pace. As Howie had promised on Regis and Kathie Lee, this was going to be their best show ever. They were planning to go out with a bang.

Melody, Lacey, and Desteny walked down to the floor and walked up to one of the sucurity guards.

"Hey girls. Good to see ya again," said Tim, one of the guys regular bodyguards. Since Desteny and Melody had toured with the guys and Lacey sometimes came on tour too, everyone that toured with the Backstreet Boys knew who they were.

"Hi Tim. How was the sound check?" asked Lacey.

"It went great! This is definatly going to be the best show ever made. It's even got a surprise ending. Is this Jem and Tyler?" he asked, looking down at the twins.

"Yup. They wanted to come see their daddy and uncles preform," smiled Desteny, as Time tickled Jem under her chin.

"They're adorible. Well, I guess you want to go see the guys so I'll let you be on your way," said Tim.

"Bye Tim," the girls called as they walked backstage.

"I'm going to miss everyone," said Melody sadly.

"No kidding. This has got to be a sad day," said Lacey. "Come on in," said A.J.'s voice. The girls opened the door and stepped in.

"Dest! Oh, I missed you," said Nick, as he jumped up and hugged Desteny.

"How was the drive up here?" asked Kevin, giving Lacey a kiss hello.

"It was long but it was a really nice ride," said Lacey, giving him a hug.

"How are you guys doing?" asked Melody, giving Brian a kiss.

Howie sighed. "We're excited but sad at the same time," he explained.

Desteny walked over and gave him a hug. "Can I give you some advice?" she asked.

Howie smiled. "Sure."

Desteny smiled. "Just go out there and have some fun tonight. Give your fans the best show you've ever done," she said.

"That's good advice," said Brian.

"Come on guys. It's time to go out on stage," reminded Kevin.

Nick turned to Desteny. "Are you leaving for your seats?"

Desteny nodded. "We want to be there by the opening," she said.

A.J., Howie, Kevin and Brian gave the girls hugs and left the room.

Desteny kissed Nick. "Go out there and have fun. This moment will last in your mind for the rest of your life," she reminded.

Nick looked at Jem in Desteny's arms and smiled and kissed Desteny and Jem. "Bye," he whispered.

"Bye," said Desteny as they left the room and went seperate ways.

Just as the girls sat down in their balcony seats, the lights went down, the music started and the crowd screamed.

In an instent, the guys jumped out of the stage and started singing.

Melody looked down at the guys, a bit sad. This was the last time they would preform, but she ffelt they were doing the right thing. Melody thought she was being a bit selfish but she wanted to be with Brian all the time.

"How's Tyler doing?" yelled Desteny over the screams, breaking into Melody's thoughts.

Melody looked down at Tyler in her lap to see the little baby, smiling with his eyes bright and clapping his hands together. Melody laughed. "I think we have a Backstreet Boys fan here," she said.

As they concert went on, the more the crowd got into the show. It was a very different concert. The boys were doing things that they had discussed doing in the show next year, like more fireworks, flames, and near the end of the show, they even flew on some cables.

At the very end of the show, Brian, Nick, Kevin, A.J. and Howie came out for one last time after preforming Everybody and sat down on some stool that had been placed on the stage. The crowd quieted to hear what they had to say.

"We just wanted to say, that we would not give up these last 9 years for anything," started Kevin.

"We owe all we were and are to you, the fans and we thank you," said Brian.

"All five of us feel sad that we're leaving, but we know it's time for us to move on. But we're going to miss preforming and most of all, we're going to miss the fans," said A.J.

"So, to say thank you and to say a sad good-bye, we wrote a song, just for the fans," said Nick. "It's called 'Good-bye'."

As they music started and the guys started to sing the slow song, there was not a dry eye in the stadium, including Desteny, Melody and Lacey.

After the song was over, there was a silence, and then the entire staduim erupted into screams and cheers. The boys then turned, waving to the audience one last time, left the stage one last time.

That's the end! I hope ya liked it. But fear not, there is the 3rd sequel. I will be working on it and I hope you like it. It continues the story after the Backstreet Boys stop touring.
