The Next Day
Brian, Kevin, A.J., and Howie walked down the hospital halls to Desteny's room, their arms loaded with gift for the babies and the new parents.
"I always though Kevin would be the first to be a father out of us," said A.J. as they walked through the hallways.
"Nick really has grown up," said Brian, smiling as they walked up to the door to her room.
They opened the door and stepped in the room to see Desteny sitting up in her bed, with Melody sitting on the side of her bed. Nick was sitting in a chair, sleeping.
"Hey girl! How ya doin'?" asked A.J., giving Desteny a big hug.
Desteny smiled and hugged him back. "I'm tired but I'm happy," she replied.
Brian gave Desteny a huge hug. "We brought some stuff for you and the babies," he said, pointing to the stuff they brought.
"Shouldn't someone wake up Nick?" asked Howie, looking at Nick sleeping.
Melody smiled as Brian sat down next to her. "He was up all night last night. He was so hyper last night. I don't think he slept a minute of sleep, telling all the nurses he was a dad or looking at the twins," laughed Melody.
"Where are the twins? We promised you we would come and see them after they were born," asked Kevin.
"They're in the nursery with all the other new borns. Mel, can you go get them?" Desteny asked, turning to Melody.
"Sure," she said. "Brian, you want to come with me. I don't think I can carry them both at the same time."
"Why not? I carried both of them for 9 months," teased Desteny. Melody gave her a dirty look while the guys laughed. Melody took Brian's hand and left the room.
"Was Nick really that excited last night?" asked Howie, sitting down in a chair next to Desteny's bed.
Desteny laughed. "He wouldn't shut up! He told every single nurse at least twice that he was a new dad."
"I'm not surprise. I only hope that I'm the happy when I become a dad," said Kevin.
"Are you thinking that you and Lacey might start a family one day?" asked Desteny curiously.
"Ya, I mean, you've been seeing her for over 5 years and you guys are really serious," said A.J.
"Didn't she say she was coming to visit Dest today?" asked Howie.
"That's right. She promised me she would come and visit me today," said Desteny. Melody, Desteny and Lacey were really close, like sisters.
Just at that moment, a tall blonde came into the room. "Dest!" she cried, as she rushed over and hugged Desteny.
"Lace, we were just talking about you," laughed Desteny, as she hugged Lacey back.
Lacey stood up and gave Kevin a kiss. "I missed you babe," she said gentaly.
Kevin kissed her back. "I did too."
"So where's the new father?" asked Lacey, looking for Nick, to find him still sleeping on the chair. She looked at him for a second then burst out laughing. "I can tell he didn't get any sleep last night."
Then, the door opened again and Melody and Brian walked in with Desteny and Nick's twins in their arms.
Everyone 'Aww'ed as Brian handed the baby girl to Desteny. Melody held onto the boy.
"Dest, they're so cute!" cooed Lacey, as she tickled the baby girl under the chin. The baby giggled.
Just then, Nick woke up with a start with the noice of the baby giggling. "Huh? Did I hear something?" he asked sleepily.
A.J. laughed. "He sleeps through all us talking and Lacey and Desteny screeching.," Lacey and Desteny gave him a dirty look. "And you wake up to a baby giggling."
Nick got up. "Yes," he said simply, smiling. He sat down next to Desteny on her bed, giving her a kiss.
"What are the babies name's?" asked Howie.
"The boy's name is Tyler and the girl's name is Jem," said Nick, as Melody handed Tyler over to him.
"They are adorable," said Lacey, smiling down at the little babies.
Kevin put his arm around Lacey and smiled. "Congradulations guys," he said.
"Thanks," said Desteny, as Jem reached up and grabbed a lock of her hair.
A nurse then came into the room. "You all better go. The mom needs some more rest and I bet the dad does to from staying up all night," smiled the nurse. Nick blushed as everyone laughed.
They all gave Nick and Desteny hugs good-bye promising to come back tomorrow.
Just as they were about to leave, A.J. pulled Nick to the side. "Nick, we need to talk about what we were talking about earlier. Come over to the hotel at 7 pm, ok?"
Nick had to think a second, but then remembered. "Okay, I'll be there," promised Nick, as A.J. left.
