"I wonder why the guys asked to talk to us all together?" said Melody, as they were all sitting in Desteny's hospital room.
The guys had asked Melody and Lacey to come to Desteny's room at 7 pm to tell them something really importent. Lacey, Melody and Desteny were now in Desteny's room, playing with Jem and Tyler.
"They've been acting weird all day today," said Lacey, tickling Jem's stomach.
"Something tells me that this is pretty big," said Desteny.
Melody and Lacey looked at her. "What makes you think that?"
"Just the way that the guys are acting, I can tell it's something really big and really importent," explained Desteny, holding Tyler.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Who is it?" asked Desteny.
"It's the Easter Bunny," answered A.J.'s voice.
Melody laughed. "Come on in guys," she said.
They all walked in, with A.J. holding the back of his head (one of the guys had obviously smacked him on his head).
"Hey babe," said Nick, giving Desteny a deep kiss.
"We're glad you're all here," said Brian, kissing Melody and wrapping his arms around her.
"Why did you ask us all here?" asked Lacey, snuggling with Kevin.
"Have a seat," said Howie, getting serious. The girls sat down (well, Desteny was already sitting down but you know what I mean), each feeling a little nervous.
"We've all been thinking a lot lately. About all the stuff that is going on right now in our lives," said Kevin, sitting down beside Lacey.
"Desteny and Nick have twins, Brian and Melody are really serious and so are Kevin and Lacey," said A.J., giving some examples.
"So....your point is?" asked Melody, confused.
"We've decided that the Backstreet Boys will stop touring and settle down," said Nick carefully.
Melody, Desteny and Lacey sat and looked at the guys with their eyes wide open.
"Are you guys serious?" asked Desteny in a whisper.
"Very. Our lives are getting too full and we all want to settle down and start families and there's no way we can do that if we still tour," said Brian.
"But what about the fans? What will they think?" asked Lacey.
"We love the fans but we've given them 9 years and we hope that they'll understand that we need lives of our own," said Howie. Obviously, the guys had thought this out really well. Still, Lacey, Desteny and Melody couldn't say anything.
"What do you girls think?" asked A.J.
"If this is what you guys want and think is the right thing to do," asked Desteny.
"It is," said A.J., nodding his head.
"Then go for it," smiled Melody.
The guys sighed with relief.
"When are you going to tell the fans?" asked Lacey, concerned about the fans again.
"We're doing a show on 'Live With Regis And Kathy Lee' on Tuesday and we'll tell them then," said Nick, picking up and holding Jem.
"When will be your last concert?" asked Melody, snuggling with Brian.
"We're scedualed to end this tour at Toronto, Canada in one week, then we're suppose to have a break. That'll be our last concert," said Kevin.
Lacey sat on Kevin's lap. "Are you sad about not touring anymore," she asked quietly.
Kevin smiled. "A bit. But if it means I can settle down with you, it's worth it," he said, kissing her sweetly.
"We have to be there for your last concert," said Desteny determinly.
"When do you get out of the hospital?" asked A.J. He smiled. "We ask that question a lot, don't we?" he joked.
Desteny gave him a dirty look. "Sad but true. I get out the day after tomorrow. I'll go back to me and Nick's apartment for a few days to recover from the C-Section, then I'll be able to travel," she said.
"What about the babies?" asked Howie. "It would be really kewl if they could be there."
"Well, they're too small and young to fly so we girls might just have to have a good ol' road trip," smiled Lacey.
"Are you sure that Desteny and the babies will be ok for it?" asked Nick, concerned.
"Puh-lease. I've traveled with you guys for 4 years and in the last few months, have barely gotten into a vehicle. I'm looking forward to this," smiled Desteny. "Plus, I think it's only right for Jem and Tyler to see their daddy and uncles preform for the last time."
"Then it's settled. Me and Lacey with drive Desteny, Jem and Tyler up to Toronto for your last concert," said Melody, before Nick could object. Nick, realizing he couldn't win, agreed.
