It was almost 6 and Melody and Desteny were just coming down the stairs.
Desteny was wearing a short forest green dress with speggitti straps that came down to her knees and had a slit up her right leg to her thigh. Melody was wearing a long light blue dress with a matching shawl. Desteny had curled both of their hair so Melody left her hair down but Desteny had sweeped it up so a few curls were falling down her cheek.
As soon as Melody's foot touched the floor, the doorbell rang. Desteny stepped down onto the floor (she always walked down the stairs last now) and trotted over to the door and opened it.
The guys eyes widened when they saw the girls.
"Wow," said Nick, staring at Desteny. She looked like an angel to him.
"You girls look fabulous," smiled Brian. He turned to Nick and jabbed his elbow in his ribs. "Wake up, Nick." Nick gave him a dirty look.
"You guys look great too," complimented Melody.
Each of the guys were wearing nice pants and great looking shirts. Nick had his hair in that wind blown look again which Desteny personally loved.
"The other girls won't be able to take their eyes off of you," said Desteny, smiling.
"To bad, I only have eyes for you," said Nick softly, kissing her gentaly.
The guys took the girls hands and took them out to a black convertable.
"Nick, why don't you drive tonight?" suggested Brian.
Nick looked at him slyly. "You really trust me?" he asked.
"Not really, but I fell like cheating death tonight," laughed Brian.
"I other words, he wants to smooch with Melody in the backseat," whispered Desteny, only loud anough for Nick to hear.
Nick smiled and silently laughed. They all climbed into the car and Nick started the engine. He pulled away from the house and drove off.
"So now will you tell us were your taking us?" asked Melody from the backseat, where she and Brian were snuggling.
Brian smiled. "Nope. You'll just have to wait and see."
Soon, Nick pulled up to La Raza, the fanciest resterant in town. While the girls were shocked, the guys went around and opened their doors and offered their hands.
"Wow! I have never been to this place," said Melody excitedly.
"Well, we're even then, 'cause neither have I," said Brian, smiling.
The girls climbed out and Nick gave the keys to the valai. Then they walked into the resterant which was built by the ocean. It was beautiful inside. There were candles everywhere and the lights were down low. A band was playing soft music. The waitor showed them to their table after Brian gave him their names. The table was over in a dark cornor so no one could really see them and they ordered their food. Nick looked out onto the floor.
"Dest, do you want to dance?" he asked.
Desteny smiled. "I would love to." She took Nick's hand and walked off onto the dance floor with Brian and Melody close behind. Nick spun Desteny around then pulled her close. They wrapped their arms around each other and started swaying to the music. Desteny gazed into Nick's loving blue eyes and sighed. "So far, this is the best birthday I have every had."
Nick smiled and whispered in her ear. "Trust me it'll get even better."
Desteny smiled and gentaly kissed Nick and pulled even closer to him. Melody looked over at Nick and Desteny and smiled. She motioned for Brian to look. He looked and he smiled and looked at Melody again.
"I'm glad that they're so happy," Brian said.
"Just as happy as I am when I'm with you," Melody said quietly.
Brian kissed her and pulled her closer.
When the song ended, one of the band memebers said "We're going to take a short dinner break, then we'll be right back."
Brian, Melody, Nick and Desteny went back to their table. They only had to wait a few minutes until their food arivved. They talked and ate the great food. After supper, Brian and Melody went to dance more while Desteny and Nick decided to take a walk along the beach. It was a warm summer night and the water was as still as glass, the moon was full and there were millions of stars in the sky.
Nick and Desteny had taken off their shoes and were walked hand in hand along the beach. Desteny sighed happily. "You know, this is excastly how I pictured my perfect birthday," murmered Desteny.
"I'm just glad I could make you happy," said Nick, quietly, looking at her in the moonlight.
Desteny was gazing at the ocean not sure what to say when she felt Nick's hands on her waist. She turned around and Nick pulled her close and kissed her gentaly then more firmly. Desteny wraped her arms around Nick's neck. Both of them were so involved in the kiss they didn't hear two sets of feet coming behind them.
"You two sickened us," complained Brian.
Nick and Desteny surprised pulled apart.
"Thanks a lot Brian," Nick said sarcasticly, glaring at Brian.
"Look, we are really tired and I think we better head back to the hotel but.." Brian said.
Brian, Melody and Nick pulled out presents. "you have to open your presents first," smiled Brian.
Desteny smiled and laughed. "You guys shouldn't have, but I'm glad you did."
They laughed and Melody gave Desteny her present. "Here, I know you'll love this." Desteny opened up the small package and held up a bottle of her favorite perfume.
"Oh Melody. Thank you. I ran out of this 2 months ago." She hugged Melody.
"Here, open my present," said Brian.
Desteny tore open the present and found a gift certificate to her favorite clothing store.
"Alright," said Desteny. "Thanks Brian." She gave him a big hug.
"Open mine," said Nick, holding out a long small package.
Desteny smiled and opened the wrapping paper. She saw a velvet box. With curiosity, she slowly opened it and saw a beautiful gold locked with a while jewel in the shape of a heart on the front. She opened the locket and saw a tiny picture of Nick and her in front of a flower patch kissing. She was speechless.
"Nick, I love it. Thank you," said said, finding her voice. She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him.
"Now, lets go back," said Brian.
"Ok," said Nick.
They walked back to the reserant and got the car. Nick was driving again and Desteny jumped into the passenger seat while Brian and Melody got into the backseat. The ride was pretty much quiet, for they had all had a great night and they were all tired and happy. They got to the hotel and Brian suggested "Nick, can you park the car?"
Nick looked at Desteny and smiled slyly. "No problem," he said, giving Desteny a 'look'.
Melody smiled and climbed out of the car, with Brian following. She knew that Nick and Desteny wouldn't be up for a while. Nick parked the car, cut the engine and looked at Desteny.
"I suppose you liked your birthday present," said Nick smiling.
"You bet I do, but I would like it even better if you pu it on me," Desteny slyly said. "I would be happy too," said Nick.
Desteny took the velvet box out of her purse and handed it to Nick. As he opened it and carfuly took it out of the box, Desteny turned around and pulled up her hair. Nick slid the gold chain around Desteny's neck and slowly fasened it. Then he reached down and kissed Desteny's neck. Desteny turned around and began kissing Nick back. Nick's hands moved form her neck to her shoulders to her waist. Desteny pulled away smiling, pulled out her ponytail and shook her hair. Nick ran his fingers through her hair and they began kissing pationaltly again (corny, huh?)
Brian was just unlocking his hotel door with Melody behind him with her head on one of his sholders and her hands around his waist. Brian opened the door and they both walked in. Brian turned on the lights but put them on low. Melody went and sat on one of the soft couches in the living room. Brian came over and sat next to her, snuggling with her.
"This has been some night," said Melody, gazing lovingly into Brian's eyes.
"It can get better you know," said Brian.
"Oh really? How?" Melody asked playfully.
Brian answered by reaching over and kissing her gentaly. He put his hands on her waist and pulled her closer. Melody wrapped her arms around Brian's shoulders. Brian slowly picked Melody up, still kissing her and carried her into the master bedroom.
Nick and Desteny some how (don't ask me how) got into the backseat of the car. Desteny was lying on Nick's chest (clothes still on thought Nick's shirt was undone and Desteny's speggtti straps has sliped down her shoulders) and were kissing. The pulled apart and Nick whinsed. He reached under his back and pulled out a seat belt. Desteny couldn't help but laugh. Nick chuckled too. "Maybe we should continue this somewhere else," suggested Nick.
"Sounds like a good plan to me," agreed Desteny.
They both got out of the car and straightned themselves out. Hand in hand they walked up to Nick's room and opened the door. Nick closed the door once they were in (not bothering to turn on the lights) and wraped his arms around Desteny.
"Happy Birthday," he whispered. Then they kissed.
