Nick looked up and down the hallway. He spotted Desteny going into an empty hospital room, down he hall. He followed her and looked through the window.
He saw Desteny sitting on an empty bed with tears rolling down her face looking up at the TV in the cornor. She had it on MuchMusic which Nick had learned from Melody, meant she was really upset. Nick sighed and opened the door.
Desteny turned to him and looked back at the TV after giving him the evil eye.
"We need to talk," said Nick, walking in and shutting the door. Desteny continued to stare at the TV, avoiding Nick's eyes, as if she hadn't heard him. She was afraid if she looked at him, she would start sobbing.
At that moment, the I'll Never Break Your Heart video came on. Desteny angerly shut the TV off and stared out the window. Nick sat down beside her on the bed.
"Desteny, I'm so sorry I said that. It wasn't even my idea. I didn't even want to do it at first, but Brian convinsed me it would be best for you girls. That's the only reason I did it. I didn't want you to get hurt," explained Nick.
Desteny sighed. "It doesn't matter if it was your idea or not. What matters is you did what you did and it hurt me." She looked at him for a moment. "A lot."
"I know. I can't believe I did something so stupid." Nick got up and kneeled in front of her. Desteny looked down at the ground. "I care so much about you Desteny. You gotta believe me. I do stupid stuff all the time so please don't let this ruin our relationship," pleaded Nick, giving her a puppy look.
Desteny sighed but smiled. "I guess I can't blame you. Everyone does stuff they regret. Only don't do this again." She reached down and kissed Nick. Still kissing him, Desteny slid down off the bed onto Nick's lap (not the sick way or anything). They broke apart and Nick smiled.
"I like making up with you."
"Let's just hope we don't have to do it very often," whispered Desteny. They kissed again, Desteny forgetting why she was mad.
"I hope Melody and Brian made up," said Desteny, opening the door.
But the answer was obvious as soon as they stepped in the room. Melody was curled up in a ball on her bad, her head in her hands and sobbing her eyes out. Desteny rushed up to her side and hugged her. Melody continued to cry on Desteny's shoulder.
"Melody, what happened," asked Desteny, trying to calm her friend.
"Brian.......I threw him out," cried Melody, breaking down into sobs again.
Desteny gave Nick a desperate look. Nick decsided to step in and help her. "Meldoy, Brian is my best friend. He only did this because he was afriad that you would get hurt. He loves you so much, that he would risk losing you just to protect you," explained Nick, gentaly.
Melody stopped sobbing and looked up at Nick over Desteny's shoulder, with tears still her eyes. "I'd rather be seriously hurt then live my life without Brian," she said quietly. Then, she started crying again.
One week later, Desteny and Nick were walking down the hospital hallway, each thinking their own thoughts. Melody was still in the hospital because after Brian left, she stopped eating and had become very weak. With not eating, her head wound was not healing well and she was very sick.
They walked into Melody's room, almost afriad to see how Melody was doing today. Melody looked even worse than yesterday. He bones were showing through her skin and her skin was so pale, she looked dead. Desteny almost burst into tears right there. Nick put his arm around Desteny's shoulders and they walked over to her.
"Melody, please, say something," begged Desteny, tears in her eyes. He brought her pain to see her friend like this.
Melody stared into space, not moving except for her shallow breaths. Desteny turned away and the tears started to fall again.
"I have to get out of here," Desteny whispered to Nick. Nick took her into his arms and led her outside the room.
"What do we do?" cried Desteny, crying on Nick's shoulder.
Nick felt tears come to his own eyes. "I don't know," he said, feeling hopeless. "We have to tell Brian. I've tried phoning him but no one was home. I left a message though,"
"Let's go back to you're house then and pray that he phones back. Melody's life depends on him," said Desteny.
"Brian, you have to call me as soon as you get this message. Melody is really sick and is dying. She became really depressed after you left and won't eat. Phone fast," said Nick's voice, panic in his voice.
Brian stood still as the message clicked off. Then, jumping into action, huridly dialed Nick's number in Florida.
After two rings, Aaron picked up.
"Hello?" said Aaron.
"Air boy. It's B-Rok. Let me talk to Nick," said Brian.
"Just a sec B-Rok." Aaron dropped the phone and yelled out to his brother. "Nick! Quit making out in the back yard with Desteny! Brian's on the phone!"
Brian chuckled and heard Nick's footsteps and Aaron laughing.
Nick got on the phone. "I'm going to kill him. Hey B-Rok. I'm glad you called. I guess you got my message," said Nick.
"Yeah, what is going on? What do you mean Melody is dying?" asked Brian worried.
"Since you two broke up, she hasn't eaten, slept. She's almost a vegatable. You have to get out here. She is going to die soon," said Nick.
"I'll catch the next plane out," promised Brian and hung up, praying that he wasn't too late.

Nick and Desteny waited impationatly for Brian's plane to come. It should be here any minute but that seemed to take days for Nick and Desteny. Melody's life depended on the plane getting there as fast as possible.
Finally, the screen said that Brian's plane had landed. A few minutes later, Brian walked through the doors. Nick and Desteny rushed up to him, with Desteny almost jumping on him with relief.
"Brian, thanks god, your finally here," said Desteny, praticly colapsing in Brian's arms.
"How's Melody?" asked Brian, his smile disappering. Desteny turned her head, ready to start crying at the mention of Melody's name.
"She's getting worse. She might not last through the night," Nick said quietly.
"We'll see about that," said Brian, determindly.
