"You are so lucky," said Summer, for the 20th time that afternoon. Jewel and Summer was in the kitchen, fixing supper.
Jewel reached over into a drawer, got a piece of tape, and stuck it on Summer's mouth. "Ha ha," said Summer sarcasticly. "Ok, I can take a hint." Jewel laughed. The girls were silent for awhile and Summer fixed the salad.
Just then, Jewel's cat, Misky, came running into the kitchen being chased by Liz. Jewel turned aroun. "Liz! Leave Misky alone!" yelled Jewel. Liz skidded on the floor and crashed into the wall. Jewel and Summer burst out laughing and Liz whimpered. Jewel walked over to Liz and knelt beside her. "Poor baby. Mama gonna make it all better." Jewel gave Liz a kiss on her head and rubbed her belly. Liz jumped up and trotted happily out of the kichen.
"Ya know, I think I see a family resemblence," said Summer smirking. Jewel rolled her eyes and laughed and went back to fixing the lasgna.
The nest day, Jewel was in her back-yard, working in her garden. She was cutting weeds out of the rose bush.
"Hey, nice roses," said a voice. Jewel almost cut her finger off. She turned around to see Dave leaning on the small fence that seperated their yards.
Jewel sighed with relief. "Oh, it's only you."
Dave gave her a fake hurt look. "Just me? That hurts."
Jewel smiled and stood up. She walked over to him. "I'm sorry but you know what I mean. I didn't know who it was," explained Jewel.
"Is that a compliment or an insult?" asked Dave.
Jewel chuckled. "I'm not sure either."
Dave laughed. "I'm take it as a compliment." Jewel laughed too.
"Hey, since me and my bros are new in Calgary, why don't we, you and your friend, Summer, get together tonight and you can show us some of the great sities of Calgary?" asked Dave.
Jewel smiled. "Me and Summer would love to."
Dave smiled. "We'll come over to your house at 7,ok?"
"Come over at 6 and we'll show you the best place in the city to eat," said Jewel.
"OK, sounds great. See ya then," said Dave.
"Bye," said Jewel.
