Damn near close to 4 mics…. After Cypress Hill’s highly unappreciated IV, B-Real, Bobo, Sen-Dog, and Muggs decide to pull out the trend that they may have started. Anyone remember the Judgment Night Soundtrack? Cypress colabs with rockers, Fear Factory and Brad Wilk from Rage, along with Sen-Dog’s next project SX-10, to garner to the alternative audience once again. However, the Skull Disc still presents the good ol’ hip-hop these rap vets have been known to bring through the years. Muggs ditches the use of samples, and experiments with a keyboard; and although I prefer the old samples, the new sound doesn’t lose too much ground. Sen-Dog appears thoroughly in Skull & Bones, adding an improved flow and variety to B-Real’s classic nasal sound. Do you wanna be a rap superstar or rock superstar? Cypress Hill still maintains both in 2000.
