Letter From the Prez (Pleaze Read!!!)

Dear Members,

I want to say that now that Fly Girls is back in running order, I hope to have some people help and do some columns, because it can be alot of fun if more than three people do columns. We have some new members, and i would like to welcome them and hope they are pleased with our zine! A quick reminder, if anyone decides to change their screen name, as you all know I do alot, then please notify me before you do, and after with your new name. Thankx alot!! Now I don't want to bore you with me babbling on, so enjoy the Zine!!!

DEAR MISS-KNOW-IT-ALL,

MY PARENTS ARE VERY CONTROLLING. THEY NEVER LET ME DO ANYTHING ON MY OWN. AND IF I MEET A COOL PERSON AT SCHOOL AND I WANT TO GO OVER TO THEIR HOUSE, MY MOM HAS TO CALL THEIR PARENTS AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE GOING TO BE THERE AND ALL THIS OTHER STUFF. WHY CAN'T SHE TRUST ME. THEY WON'T EVEN LET ME SPEND THE NIGHT AT MY BEST FRIEND OF 9 YEARS HOUSE BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT WE ARE GOING TO GO OVER TO A GUYS HOUSE, OR DO SOMETHING BAD, EVEN THOUGH MY BEST FRIENDS MOM SAID SHE'S WATCH US LIKE A HAWK. HOW DO I GET THEM TO TRUST ME, LET ME LIVE MY LIFE?

Dear Controlled,

Okay first of all.....take a quick look over your life. Have you done something in the past to make her not trust you? What kind of people do you hang out with...are they the kind of people who are not trust worthy kind of people and get into trouble? Have you and your best friend done something really wrong before? Is there something that goes on at your friends house that your mom doesnt like? Is your friends known for being trouble makers? Look at all those things in your life. If you said yes to any of these this may be why your mom doesnt trust you. Also maybe you can try sitting down with your mom and talking to her. Ask her why she doesn't trust you... your best friend etc.? If she gives you the famous answer "it's not you i dont trust...its the people out there that i dont trust." then ask her...why she is afraid of letting you go over to your best friends house to spend the night when you've known her for 9 YEARS!!!!!! Ask for her forgiveness if you have done somthing to make her not trust you. Assure her you wont do the things she is afraid of you doing! BUT if you do that DO NOT do the things you assured her oyu wouldnt do. Point out the things that you do that are responsible...point out all things youve done that are worth trusting (such as good decions youve made etc.) I hope this helps......if you need more help or this doesn't work..PLEASE e-mail me! DEAR MISS-KNOW-IT-ALL,

I THINK I HURT SOMEONE REALLY BAD. SEE, THERE IS THIS GUY NAMED JEFF, AND HE REALLY LIKES ME A LOT, BUT I LIKE SOMEONE ELSE. WELL, A COUPLE DAYS AGO THAT SOMEONE ELSE BEGAN TO LIKE ME TO AND HE ASKED ME OUT. NOW WE ARE GOING OUT AND JEFF FOUND OUT. HE'S LIKE A BEST FRIEND TO ME AND WE ALWAYS TALK, BUT NOW WE HAVEN'T TALKED TO EACH OTHER IN A WHILE, EVER SINCE I STARTED TO GO OUT WITH THAT SOIMEONE. THEN, AT THE MOVIES, ME AND MY BOYFRIEND WERE ON A DATE AND HE WAS THERE WITH HIS FAMILY AND HE SAW US HUGGING AND HOLDING EACH OTHER IN LINE FOR TICKETS. HE GOT SO MAD HE CAME AND PUSHED US APART, CALLED HIM AN A$$HOLE, AND RAN AWAY. THEN WHEN I GOT HOME THERE WERE MANY CRANK CALLS ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE, AND I KNEW THEY WERE FROM HIM. HOW DO I GET HIM TO TALK TO ME ABOUT HIS FEELINGS AND BECOME FRIENDS AGAIN? I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY BOYFRIEND EITHER, THOUGH. BECAUSE THATS NOT FAIR THAT MY DREAMS FINALLY CAME TRUE, AND HE HAS TO SPOIL IT. WHAT SHOULD I DO? -FRIENDLESS WITH A BOYFRIEND

Dear Friendless with a Boyfriend:

Well obviously your friend, Jeff, is jealous! (just to let you know I'm gonna call your boyfriend MR. X.) Jeff did not handle the situation right...(as you already know) Try to call Jeff up and talk to him.... if he hangs up...write him a letter....if that doesn't work give it sometime. Give him sometime to get over it. Jeff maybe be hurt that you are going out with Mr. X, but if he doesn't learn how to control his jealousy you are going to have this problem everytime you have a boyfriend unless its him! Decide wether it's really worth all the trouble to stay friends...tell him straight out...I really want to be your friend...but I also want to have the freedom to date who ever I want with out you interfearing. A true friend will still love you no matter what! If you need more advice or this doesn't work....e-mail me and I will try and help you more!
