Overview and thoughts
Yes, 2001 was a good year for PawPrint Boxers. Two new girls joined the ranks of AKC Champions. Booker T had his 4th Champion finish with several others making big strides towards their own Championships. Next year I am confident will see Booker T win his ABC Sire of Merit award. This is awarded to top producing sires whom have produced at least 7 AKC Champions. Booker T also continued his winning ways in the ring. He won Group 1 in the Veteran Group at the Sacramento Valley Kennel Club as well as two Best Veteran in Specialty wins. At 7.5 years old he is doing fabulous.
One of the most anticipated events of the year was Penny's litter. I planned her breeding to Booker T the day she came to my house. Everyone who knows me knows how impatiently I waited for her to come in season. She taught me well the old saying is true: A watched pot never boils. Well, she finally gave in to Mother Nature the first of the year and I held my breath. Penny had wowed me when she was in the ring and she continued this impressive trend in the whelping box. She free whelped her puppies in just 3 hours! Of these pups, four are showing incredible potential for the ring. And of these four, two are already Major pointed. JJ has already won Best of Breed from the 6-9 month puppy class. Needless to say I am incredibly proud of Penny and her kids from this first litter. My plans are to repeat this breeding in 2002 back to Booker T again. I have a goal of Penny achieving her ABC Dam of Merit award, awarded to bitches that produce 4 AKC Champions.

I cannot even begin to list the kind folks that have given moral support over this past year. Good people have put their faith in my Boxers and I am completely grateful.
