Overview and thoughts
2003 started off quiet and slow. After a 3 month rest, Diesel was back out in the show ring. He took back-to-back BOW wins in New Mexico for a nice start. The following weekend saw him in Colorado for two more wins including a 3 point major and a 2 point win. Two weeks later he won a 4 point Major in Arizona as well as Grand Sweepstakes at the Boxer Club of Arizona. Two weeks later he won back-to-back wins in S.California. In 7 straight weekends this amazing boy won all but one final single point. Diesel was pulled for a few weeks for some quality home time. His first weekend back in the ring brought yet another 4 point Major and his new Championship! Diesel finished with 3 Majors at the age of 17 months. I named this boy well - "Winning Ways".
Both Speaker and JJ went North to Canada to complete their Canadian Championships. These are my first 2 Canadian Champions.
May 2003 I went to the American Boxer Club National Specialty to pick up Booker T's newest award: Sire of Merit. Truly an incredibly honor. At 9 years old Booker T is looking fabulous and still makes his occasional appearance in the Veteran ring. Special Veteran thoughts go to Crystal who turned 10 years old this April. Crystal is still the picture of health and Boxer enthusiasm. She also won her Veteran class at the Golden Gate Boxer Club's August 2003 Specialty.
JJ's first litter is doing well. The pups were born 12/26/02 and bred by Star Boxers in Tx. Momma Flame did a wonderful job and the pups are quite promising. While the litter was not from 2003, the kids hit the ring this year to fabulous results as reported above. Four kids from this litter are looking very promising to start making their own ring history. Lord and Mia each won Best Puppy In Match as they practiced for the big time. Lord was pointed from the 6-9 mo puppy class and handled by his 12 year old owner, Michelle Davis. Lord continued his 2003 with more points and even a Best of Breed win.
Samson made his AKC ring debut and started off early with a Major Reserve. This boy shows alot of potential and I am quite excited about his future. He showed at the ABC and made the cut in his class. He will come back out the beginning 2004 to go for the gold. He has been home maturing for now.
The perfect way to close the year 2003 was with a very much anticipated litter out of Delilah. She free whelped 6 lovely puppies. Several look quite promising so 2004 should be fun to put them in the ring.
