History: Once a brilliant biochemist, he and Dr. Zyme created VIPER MUTAGEN 368. Zyme, however took all the credit. Angery, Purvis decided to steal the formula. But he got into a fight Zyme and lab security and had the gunk spilled on him, thus becoming Dr. Viper
