EVH's Danelectro Neck History

• summer 1978- on a Charvel Explorer
• late 1978- hanging out on a Strat body (no pickguard); note the black/white VH1 guitar in the background
• early 1979- in the studio on a Strat body (with pickguard); used on "Women In Love" from VHII
• late 1979- on the white Charvel Star body
• 1980- on the now-striped Star (with Floyd nut route) and used extensively on the WACF tour
• late 1980- backstage on a natural, rear-loaded Strat body (eventual "Rude")
• 1981 (October)- heavily modified with added wood on the headstock on the "Rude" guitar - Fair Warning tour (Tangerine Bowl with The Stones)
• late 1981- relaxing with EVH on "Rude"
• 1982- "Rude" guitar spotted backstage with DLR on the Diver Down tour
• 1983 (April)- on the Frankenstein during the Star Fleet sessions with Queen's Brian May
• 1983 (May)- sometime before the US Festival at the pre-recorded "backstage party"; played on the video screens before the band went on stage
• (NOTE: EVH played his Frankenstein outfitted with a "beak" Kramer neck at the Memorial Day weekend US Festival concert, so the party was not broadcast live, but was pre-recorded.)
• 1984-present- not seen on any EVH guitar
