Ryuki Watari.  Known sorcerer who's obsessed with angels, he lives in angelic city San Francisco.  The Host officially tolerates him, though no one can say why.  Scion of a banking family.  Late 20's early 30's, no known wife or children.


His father, Ryukawa.  Runs Pacific World bank with their partners the Ivanovs, a new-wealth Russian family.  (Remember that historically Japanese and Russians do not get along.)  Born in Nagasaki and rather old-school.

Nicole, the bank's secretary.  Smart, perceptive, loyal, and used to holding her ground against some very strong people.  In her late 20's.  Not related to either family.


Miyako, the elder Watari's second wife,  Ryuki's stepmother.  Traditional Japanese wife, even a bit throwback as a rebellion against American customs.

Miyako "Mia" and Kenichi "Ken", Ryuki's half-sister and half-brother.  Mia is a college student, and Ken runs the real estate division of the bank with the help of trusted advisers.  Both are in their mid-20's.


Shiro, Ryukawa's younger brother and the children's late uncle.  He and Ryuki are very close, partly from being fairly close in age.
Shiro was killed in Tokyo while trying to find the people who killed his father and bring them to justice.

Almost forgot...


Pavel Ivanov.  Ryuki's counterpart in the Ivanov family, Pavel is a handsome guy in his early 30's.  He's got a rather cowboy personality, but the cross around his neck tells you he's a practicing Russian Orthodox.
