Richardson's Wood is a small English town near the Scottish border. The town is governed by the Lord Mayor (Sir John Fondlesworthy and his lovely wife Lilith), along with the Aldermen, with the help of the Sheriff and his Constables. Join the Lord Mayor and his noble guests in procession for the exciting Horse Tourney!
There is also a small detachment of the Queen's English Militia and a few German Landsknecht mercenaries (originally hired by King Henry VIII and now settled in the town) garrisoned in the town. The Landsknechts drill daily, while fencing demonstrations and lessons in the manly arts of defence are also available.
The folk of the Wood are very familiar with, and are on "every day" terms with the border Scots with whom we enjoy (mostly) peaceful trade and association. Be sure to stop by the Scottish and Irish encampments to inquire of their many crafts and wares!
Other sights: Danish nobles and merchants here to trade their fine cannons to anyone with enough gold. Visit with the Austrian Habsburgs; here to revel in the Faire, lend money to anyone willing to pay on their terms - and as ambassadors for Archduke Charles of Austria (as a potential suitor of Queen Elizabeth). Stop at the Gypsy camp to have your fortune told - but beware! Or, see the visiting Germanic Barbarians. They are here to trade, revel in the Faire and generally create mayhem. The Ottoman Traders are the Middle Easterners here to entice, engage, entertain and take advantage of any money-carrying soul that happens by!
