Ever After

Dont expect to see any glass slippers, fairy godmothers, or clocks striking twelve in "Ever After," the latest version of the Cinderella tale. Instead, the sixteenth century heroine, played by Drew Barrymore, fights with her evil, witchy stepsister to claim whats hers: Prince Henry (Dougray Scott.) Extremely romantic, this version of Cinderella will surely beat all the competition.
Obviously, this is no movie which could be filled just anywhere. Ever After was filmed at the breathtakingly beautiful South of France. But they didnt start filming. Even though Barrymore was comfortable riding horses, Scott, on the other hand, wasnt. He had to take riding lessons fo a couple of months before they actually started filming.
In the movie, you might see the prince and Danielles (Barrymore) evil stepsister go out a few times, but that all changes when Danielle shows up. She captivates the prince with her strong opinions and courage. Unlike the original version, where the prince notices just her beauty and sweetness.
Another difference that separates this version from all the other Cinderella versions is that in this movie the girl actually gets to fight, She doesnt just sit back and let the man fight for her. I guess you can say this is the best version of Cinderella.
Romantic, funny, and sporty, what could be better?
