Performer Encourages Students

to be Salt & Light

By Richie Urquidez

Mandie Pinto was at L.A. Lutheran. She performed a live concert for students, January 13th. She sang songs from her album, "Count All Your Blessings," which included songs like "Eternally Yours," "Lord, Lift Me Up," and more. My personal favorite is "Salt and Light." Sorry, but Adam Rulvacaba is not actually featured on the album itself!

Mandie sang at the National Lutheran Youth Gethering in Atlanta last summer. Her producer and keyboardist, Robbie Robinson, wrote most of the music for the gathering.

Robinson was here before. He was a Chapel speaker in November along with singer Cynthia Calhoun, a member of the Christian music group, "Sleeping Giant." Calhoun once recorded with Snoop Doggy Dog. Robinson was the keyboardist for the 50’s & 60’s group, Fankie Vallie and the Four Seasons and worked for many years in Las Vegas. Who knows, maybe he may show up at LALHS again.

Mandie is twenty years old and graduated from Los Angeles Baptist High School. Her album is available both on compact disk and on cassette at Valley Book and Bible stores in Van Nuys, Canoga Park and Simi Valley, and at God’s Books and Gifts in Mission Hills, and at the Family Christian Store in Simi Valley. Robbie Robinson and his brother Rex lead the contemporary worship services at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Canyon Country. Bethlehem is the home church for Mrs. Mueller, Mr. and Mrs. Mallory, and Mrs. Camunzano. You can check service times and get directions to Bethlehem at www.followthestar.com
