Procrastination
One Who Hesitates is Lost
By Coree Bardoner
The proper definition of procrastination is to put off taking action until a future time; to postpone. Procrastination is a trap that everyone has or will face. The word alone sounds harmless, but the results can destroy goals in life, bring upon failure, and it can also result in harm.
Procrastination can destroy goals in life. If one waits till the last minute to finish a project or accomplish a goal, many opportunities will be lost. For example, if one procrastinates on applications for college, soon it is too late and the opportunity is gone.
Procrastination also brings upon failure. When one procrastinates, improvement is not available (pay attention, especially Juniors). When one procrastinates, one digs themselves into deeper and deeper holes.
Lastly, procrastination can also result in harm. For example, if one is in an abusive relationship and they procrastinate for help, soon it is too late and the victim could be killed or permanently damaged, whether that be physical or emotional damage.
I think that procrastination is a problem for everyone. Procrastination varies from little problems such as homework to bigger problems like abuse. I think when one procrastinates, one does not fulfill the fullest their life can be.
Some personal advice: use your time wisely.
