Chapter 2 - The Meeting

"Korin?" AJ said in disbelief.

"Oh, AJ, hi." she replied with a fake smile.

"What are you doing here?" he demanded.

"Oh, how nice to see you too." Korin replied sarcastically.

"Korin, I'm serious." he said.

"Wee, for you information, I'm in the group that happens to be your opening act."

"You mean I'm going to be seeing you for the next 2 months?" He said it like it was a fate forse than death.

Korin nodded with a look of dread on her face.

While this little "happy" (yeah right) conversation was going on, the rest of us were standing around like "huh?".

Finally Nick said "Ok, are we missing something here? You guys know each other?"

"We dated each other a few years ago." Korin explained.

"So I take it you guys didn't exactly break up on good terms?" I asked.

"No." they both replied without hesitation.

We all raised our eyebrows and exchanged looks. Except for Korin and AJ of course, because they were both trying as hard as possible to avoid eye contact with each other.

"Well," Karen said, trying to break the silence,"I'm Karen, and this is Alta, Lizzy, and Kristy. I guess AJ knows who Korin is, but for the rest of you, this is her.

"I'm Howie, and this is Brian, Nick, Kev, and AJ." Howie said.

Brian smiled at me and I almost died right then and there.

"Look guys, I hate to be rude," Korin broke in, "but we have to rehearse on stage now."

I could tell she wanted to be as far as possible from AJ. Me, Liz, Alta, and Karen all gave her really nasty looks, but went anyway, mostly cause we desperately needed to talk to her. We said goodbye and went out into the hallway. As soon as we were out of earshot, we started questioning (to put it nicely) Korin.

"You know a Backstreet Boy?" (Alta)

"YOU DATED A BACKSTREET BOY??????" (Lizzy)

"Do you know Howie also?" (Karen)

"WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU TELL US???????" (Me)

Korin sighed. "Yes, I know a Baclkstreet Boy. Yes, I dated a Backstreet Boy. No Karen, I didn't meet Howie until today. Ok, and I'm not sure why I didn't tell you. I guess I didn't think it was important or whatever. But it doesn't matter cause we aren't dating anymore ok so back off!"

"Ok, ok, sheesh. We'll back off. But it isn't common day news, you know." I said.

Korin just said to drop it, so we did. Well, sort of. We dropped it for the moment at least, but not for good!

Ok, so then we really did have to rehearse on stage. We were setting up when the guys came out into the arena and asked if they could watch us rehearse. We said yes, of course, despite evil glares coming from Korin. We started singing our first song, 'Tell Me That You Love Me', which is a really good dance song. When we finished the guys all applauded.

"That was great!" Brian said.

"Yeah, you guys are really talented!" Nick said, looked at Lissa.

We all beamed, and then we sung the rest of our songs. When we were finished, I could tell the guys were really impressed. We jumped off the stage and walked over to where they were sitting. They complimented us again, and we beamed again. Then the guys had to go do a photo shoot, so they said goodbye.

Then Kevin turned around and said "Hey, why don't you ladies hang out with us tonight?"
