A short time later, Kevin's voice came through the intercom, "AJ we're in, I need you up here."
"All right, I'm comin.'" AJ acknowledged. He looked at the sleeping boy. He hated to wake Aaron up so he decided to let him sleep a little while longer. AJ made his was back up to the cockpit and took his seat. They passed through the security and the ship scan. "Angel, go wake your brother and tell him to get ready for the next phase." AJ instructed.
"Okay." She agreed as she left for the back of the ship.
"How is he?" Kevin wanted to know.
"Not good, but he'll have a problem NOT being able to come with us. Not only is he determined to help his brother, but it's too risky leaving him behind. And another thing, that's kid is weird, he has this mental link or something, he's convinced that Nick's in trouble and he says that he's seen me before in dreams." AJ reported.
"Hmm... So we take him with us?" Kevin asked.
"We're gonna hafta." AJ gave in.
"You think he has some of the force?"
"No, it's too weak here and Howie would have said something. I don't know what it is, but it's not that. Maybe it's the same thing you have with that mind thing."
Kevin shrugged. "So what's the plan?"
"What's the safest way to get to get the twins in there?"
Kevin thought for a minute. "We could take them in as prisoners. We know where Nick is and we'll bring them to that detention block."
"Basically the same tactic that was used during the civil war to save Leia Organa." AJ mused. "That'll work." He paused, "What about Aaron, he may be to weak."
"We could carry him and say that he's unconscious from tranks so we're just bring him to his cell." Kevin suggested.
AJ smiled, "I love how your mind thinks."
Just then, Angel re-entered the cockpit, supporting Aaron. He weakly looked up at the two older men. "I don't feel good."
"I know little man, but can you hang in there for a little wile longer?" Kevin asked in a soothing voice as Angel strapped her brother into a seat.
"I guess." Aaron replied.
"Here," AJ took a pair of restraining binders and but them around Angel's wrists.
"What are these for?" She looked down and the binders.
"We're going to pretend you two are prisoners and take you to the detention block where your brother is." AJ explained as he put another set on Aaron's wrists.
The plan went well. Only a few officers stopped AJ for caring Aaron, but they all bought the story. "What do we do now?" Aaron whispered so only AJ could hear.
"I'm going to set you down and we'll start shooting. You and your sister stay down." AJ whispered back. No sooner as those words were out of his mouth that he had to act on them. With lightening speed, AJ set the boy down and began shooting everything that moved. Kevin concentrated on cameras and motion sensors.
As soon as the smoke cleared, Kevin took off for Nick's cell. Once there, he was met by an astonishing scene. A small woman was holding a knife to Nick. If she made one move he would be dead in a matter of minutes. Without hesitation, he shot her. It wasn't life threatening, but it got her out of his way.
"Who the hell are you?" A tall blond snapped.
"Kevin, and if you want you ass saved, you might want to follow me." Kevin shot back.
"We gotta jet, we have Royals on our asses!" AJ screamed. Nick and Kevin ran out of the cell. Nick paid no attention to anyone besides Kevin. AJ had grabbed the discarded Royal guns and he didn't have room to carry Aaron, but the boy insisted he was fine.
Aaron was weak to begin with. His body ached all over. Still, he pushed himself to the limit to keep up with the others who were ahead of him. His heart was throbbing and his lungs were burning, gasping for air. Pain emanated from his chest.
Aaron stopped for a second to catch his breath. Without warning, he threw up. He knew the other's had stopped and were double backing to get him. After he threw up twice more, he noticed the blood mixed in with the half digested food. He no longer had a senses of balance and he lost all energy he had. His knees buckled and he plunged into darkness, gasping for air.
