"Nicca!" A guard entered the cell. Nick's head snapped up but he made no verbal response. Once the guard saw he had the blonde's attention, he continued. "The meds sent me to tell you that Aarca is in critical condition and that Nicgo is currently watching him through the day cycle."
Nick inwardly smiled, but his face remained emotionless. "Thank you." The soft words fell from his usually silent lips. He then re-entered the dream world he had created for himself, blocking out everyone else.
Several hours later, possibly even a standard day the door opened again to reveal a woman. "They have landed on Hungta, everyone is outside. We must leave quickly." She reported quickly.
"Who are you?" Kevin wanted to know.
"I'm Nicgo. I'm with the rebellion, but I act as a spy for them." Nicgo replied.
"How can we trust you?" AJ challenged.
"Ask Nicca."
"Nick?" AJ looked at the young man.
Nick looked up at her. His blue eyes silently judged her. "She can be trusted. She helped me earlier."
Nicgo looked at AJ for approval, he seemed hesitant. "You can ask Brili if you must. But remember the longer we wait here, the less time we have to get Aaron and Angel to the power."
"Fine, what's the plan?" AJ gave in.
"Since when do you have final say?!" Kevin demanded as Nicgo went to release the rest of the group in the neighboring cell.
"Kevin, Alex, cool your tempers." Howie's statement wasn't a suggestion, it was an order.
"But he...," Both AJ and Kevin started but were silenced by Howie's glare. Brian snickered a little at how childish the two were acting.
The group was soon flanked by troops. "What the hell?" Kevin exclaimed. "AJ this...."
"Kevri, cool it. They're with us." Nicgo coaxed.
One of the guards carried Aaron. He looked a little better then before but he still held the aura of death about him. The guard handed the boy back to Nick. Aaron weakly looked up at his brother with large brown eyes. "Make the pain stop Nick." His voice was soft and coarse as if the words were a great effort to him.
"We'll do that soon buddy, hang in there." Nick hugged his brother and watched has his brown eyes slowly closed.
"What's going on?" Brian wanted to know.
"We're supposedly taking you to the palace detention area, but we'll take the secret entrance to the heart of the palace. Mind you that the area we'll be traveling in hasn't been seen nor disturbed in thousands of years." Nicgo explained.
"How do you know this?" Kevin inquired.
She smiled. "Lets just say a rebel protector briefed me. MOVE OUT!"
The group began marching to the great place. They soon reached the detention block. It hadn't been modernized because the old methods still served their purpose. Nicgo led them to a cell at the end of the hallway. She stopped and looked at the group. "Get in!" She barked.
AJ protested, "But...."
"I said get in the damn cell!" Nicgo's eyes were fixed in a cold hard stare and she ushered the group into the cell, and slammed the door once the final one had entered.
Nick, AJ, Brian, Kevin, Howie and Angel looked at each other helplessly as Nicgo's footfalls became quieter as she walked back the way they had came.
