Chapter 6

"Is there a way to find out where my friends are being held?' AJ couldn't communicate like Kevin could, but he knew Kevin could read minds a little, so AJ tried to just think of what he wanted to say and Kevin would 'reply'.

'Yeah,' Kevin responded. This method was safer for communicating. No one knew of his 'power' and it this form of communication couldn't be eavesdropped as easily. They just had to be careful to talk verbal so not to attract attention. 'We need to get to the computer bay and hack in,'

'Not a problem. I'm the best thief, hacker, smuggler in the galaxy. You name it, and I can do it without getting caught.' AJ boasted.

"Why did you join the Royals?" Kevin asked verbally. "I wanted to be apart of the," AJ paused before forcing the words out of his mouth, "the greatest force in the galaxy." 'That's a bunch of shit right there! The Royals have the crappiest ships and the worst pilots. Oops! No offense please.'

Kevin tried not to laugh out loud. 'None taken,' "I joined so I could find my cousin. The Academy," Kevin was referring to the training sector for the Royals, "Was my only chance to get off planet. I was the best pilot in our sector," it was Kevin's turn to boast.

"Watch out, we have another Luke Skywalker on our hands," AJ joked, referring to the war hero, Jedi master in the neighboring galaxy.

Kevin smiled and added, 'In more ways then one.'

"What happened to your cousin?" AJ inquired.

"He was my copilot so to say. When we were on one of your 'adventures,' we came across a Royal camp. We learned that they were planning to raid our town the next day. One of 'em spotted us and we ran. Unfortunately, he got caught. I watched the Royals take him to a nearby shuttle and two out of the dozens that were there left with him and went to the main ship above. That was the last time I saw him. I then ran back to the town in hopes to save everyone else. I hoped that the Royals just made him work for them instead of killing him or selling him off as a slave. He was an excellent pilot after all. So I joined, and hoped that I would cross his path and find out what happened to him," Kevin finished the story with a far off look in his eyes.

AJ wasn't exactly sure what to say. "If it makes you feel better, my brother was killed in a raid. Be thankful that you got the warning in time to the town. At least you know your cousin could still be alive." He offered.

Kevin tried to change the subject. "Com'on, I'll show you around a bit. We don't leave for another few hours."

'Why do I feel like we're repeating history?' AJ wanted to know.

'What do you mean?' Kevin wondered.

'Well, you know of the Rebellion right?' AJ 'said'. Kevin nodded. 'Well, our ship was taken by tractor beam, like the Millennium Falcon, and now we're tryn' to rescue someone from the detention block,' AJ explained. 'And then there's you with the whole Luke Skywalker mind reading thing,'

Kevin began to chuckle slightly. 'Who knows, for all we know, we're saving the galaxy too,' he joked.

'More then you think,' AJ didn't direct this thought to Kevin, so he wasn't sure if he picked it up or not.

Brian was jerked back to reality when pain shot through his body. He realized someone was caring him. He quickly glanced around, looking for Nick. However, he was no where to be seen. Whoever was caring him, set him down. "You're awake," Came a female voice, stating the obvious. Brian looked at her. She was tall, with long blonde hair tumbling down her back. She stood with poise and dignity.

"Who are you?" He managed.

She laughed lightly. "Leiwa will do,"

"Lei-" He finished with a moan as pain shot up his body once again.

"Are you alright?" She swiftly walked over to him.

Brian moaned again. She made a quick gesture to the guard nearby, then looked back down at Brian. "I'm getting a med to look at you." She noticed how pale he was. Brian closed his eyes in attempt to numb the pain.

"Here," Came a new voice. Brian felt a glass at his lips, he slowly parted them, letting a semisweet liquid into his mouth. Unknowingly, he slipped into a deep sleep.

He tried to brush the blonde hair behind his ear, but it fell back in front of his eyes. He looked into the crowd. There had to be something he could do. Something caught his eye. A young man was crouched in the alley across the plaza, watching everyone. As if on cue, the guy's eye's shifted to him. He froze, unsure what the stranger would so. The man half smiled and gave a curt nod. He imitated, their eyes never unlocking. "There you are!" A gruff voice came from behind. He turned around to come face to face with the man that had been chasing him earlier.

"Um..." he faltered, "I think you have me confused with someone else." he tried.

"I don't think so," The man wasn't buying it.

Seconds later, another figure came up to them. "Let the kid go, he's not worth it," Came a raspy voice. He turned to see the man he had seen across the plaza. In the dim light, he could see his face. He gasped. Alemc was one of the most feared gangsters in the galaxy. He had never seen Alemc up close. The sunlight bounced off one of his many earrings and it danced on the brick wall. He could see Alemc's goatee was neatly trimmed in an odd design.

"And who-" the other man turned and saw Alemc with a blade drawn. "Are you," His words hung in the air.

"What business do you have with him?" Alemc gestured to the boy.

"He-" The man stammered.

"Leave," Alemc commanded and when the man hesitated to move, he threw the dagger at the man, nearly missing him. "NOW!" He boomed. The man scurried away. Once the two were alone, Alemc knelt down to the boy's level. As their brown eyes locked, the entire world seemed to stop.
