And time for MYSELF!!!!
So, there's a little trip inside my life. I hope you guys understand why I'm unable to update a lot. But, there's even more. A few bombshells have been dropped on me in the past week. I'll explain them in chronological order.
On the morning of Tuesday, November 2nd, 1999, my friend Kim's younger sister passed away at the age of 7. This has been a very hard thing to deal with for everyone and it has shocked everyone who remotely knows the Hoffmans. I ask you all to say a prayer for Kim and her family.
Today, Thursday, November 4th, 1999, I attended a rep class (one of my flute things - it's kinda hard to explain) only to have two major bombs dropped on me. The first could be good or bad. My flute teacher, Charlene, is finally pregnant. She and her husband, John, have been trying for a long time, so that in itself is good news. But, there is a very good chance that she will lose the baby. I'm not exactly sure why, because I don't know all the details, but for some reason Charlene is very prone to having a miscarriage. THAT is bad news. And that's only the first bomb. It only gets worse.
Well, the second one is both good and bad. John, who is in the Air Force and plays in the West Coast Air Force Band here in Fairfield at Travis Air Force Base, auditioned for the Washington, D.C. Air Force Band, not expecting to make it. Well, he did. It's wonderful news - Charlene grew up in Virginia and went to college there, so she's got family and friends there and she'll even be able to get her doctrine in music, which is great. But, she's leaving California. February. This may not seem too bad, but I am very close to her and we have a strong connection. So, of course, I have spent my evening crying.
I am extremely sorry for not updating, guys. But, so much is going on in my life right now, as you just read. I'm sorry. But I guarantee you, I am trying my absolutely hardest.
Sincerely,
Kristen L. B.
