Michelle walked into her dark New York apartment. She always forgot to leave the light on, and hated to walk in alone. Tired, she put her bag down on the kitchen table, and went into her bedroom to change into her pjs. Once she was comfy, Michelle sat on her bed and flipped through the tv channels. Nothing was on...until she stopped at MTV. "This could be interesting.", she thought to herself. She giggled as she watched Brian's (and the rest of BSB's) familiar faces cover the screen. They had done an interview about the current US tour, and MTV had decided to replay it. She turned up the volume when she heard B-rok's adorable southern accent take the stage..."All we really hope is that this tour will please our fans. To show them that there wouldn't be a BACKSTREET BOYS without their love and support. So...to all you fans out there, we aim to please and pleasing is what we do best!" Michelle laughed at his cute comment, as she said aloud, "And Brian, trust me. You really know how to please those fans, everyone of them. Including me."
As the interview ended, she turned off the TV, and thought of what it would be like to be with him. To have a friend in him. To be something special to him...she wanted to be his specail someone. Shaking the thought from her head, she looked over to the red, blinking light of her answering machine. She reached over to the night table and pushed play.
The message boomed, "LUCEN...where is my story? I sent you to get the story of your lifetime and you screw it up! You have 5 days to get me the story on LITTRELL...or else. Don't screw around with me, Lucen...your promotion depends on it. Have a nice night!".
***At Brian and Nick's apatment***
"Well, we went out to a little quiet coffee shop to talk...ya know get to know each other. So I bought her a hot chocolate and we talked. That's it." Brian explained, wanting to keep the details to himself.
Nick looked at him with an expression of 'yeah right' . "Umm..Bri...I don't think so. You went out with a reporter who you've been crushing over since the second you met her, and the only thing you can tell me is that you bought her a hot chocolate. I don't think so. I want details...and skip the part about whether or not she wanted marshmallows with that cocoa."
"I have not been crushing over her since the second I saw her, well maybe, but never mind that... and actually she did want marshmallows." he said, enjoying every second of watching Nick and Mel pull the info out of him.
"Cute Bri..but really come on tell us. If you don't, I'm gonna call Michelle right now and let her tell us."Melanie threatened.
"Ok, ok..gee guys...I was just playin'. She told me about her childhood, the normal stuff. Where she was born, where she went to college, about her family. But most of all, she gushed about her passion for writing. We have something in common there. I write songs, and she loves to write just about anything."
"Including the article that's gonna save your butt?" Nick questioned, wanting this small piece of vital information.
"No, anything except that." Brian responded plainly.
Nick and Mel looked at each other confused. Mel asked, "But Bri...I thought the whole purpose of going out with her was to see if you could trust her enough to write the article. Now she's not even gonna try to get the story out of you. What happened?"
"Well to be honest with you, that's what I thought too. But we got to talking. I told her about my past, and we sorta clicked. Before i knew what I was doing, I asked her out again...I just couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to see her again, so I wanted to make sure that I would be able to see her again. If I do say so myself, she seemed just as anxious as I am, to go out again. So we have a date for tomorrow at the beach. You guys are invited by the way...and you can come as a couple now!" he explained.
"That's real sweet of you Brian, but just answer the question that we're all dying to figure out."
"Ok, go ahead. Ask."
"Why did she all of a sudden, give up her dream of this story?
"She leveled with me, and asked if I was completely ok with her writing the story. I said 'no', and she just agreed, or should I say promised, not to do it. And that was that. We just continued sipping our hot cocoas and moved on."
"Brian, just like that she tossed aside her notebook, and agreed to drop the investigation?" Nick questioned.
"Yep."
"Well, then...I gotta say, this girl must have it bad for you. Think about it, she just gave up a promotion for you...all because YOU felt uncomfortable with the article. Half the reporters in this city wouldn't give a damn about what you thought, and would've just published lies. You seemed to have found the one reporter that respected you...Brian...hang on to her. See what she's all about."
"I think I'll do that. I wouldn't mind hanging on to her," he said with a happy smile.
Nick looked over at Mel, "Hey, Mel...look at him. He's got a silly grin on his face just thinking about her. I wanna see them together. We can't miss their second date. Let's round up the rest of the guys and go to the beach with them tomorrow."
"Sure, sounds good to me. Um, Nick it's getting kinda late and I should be going. Do you think you could give me a ride home?" Mel asked sweetly.
"Of course, let me grab my jacket."
With that, Mel said goodbye to Brian, who told her that he was happy to see that they were finally a couple. Mel climbed into the passenger side of Nick's car, strapped on her seat belt, and searched for something to say. Nick took care of that for her. "So, Mel...about what Brian said just now. Are we really a couple?"
Mel had the same question running through her head. Had they really gone from friends to couple status in a matter of hours? "Nick, I don't know what to say. Kissing you felt so right, but you just broke up with Liz. How can you be sure you want a relationship so soon after?"
"Yeah, but Mel..the difference is that this relationship is with you. You are too special to let go. I finally figured out that I wanted what was right in front of me. Don't let me lose you, when I just realized you wanted me too."
She giggled at his sincere tone. She knew deep down this was right. She had struggled with the idea of being more than friends, and now that idea had turned into a reality. So she would go with it. "Nick, I wouldn't have it any other way. From this moment on, we are a couple."
His grin said it all, but his lips described his passion. He stopped at a red light, and kissed her until she was breathless. The honking of nearby cars brought them back to reality, as he pulled into a parking spot near her apartment. They climbed out of the car. Hand in hand, they walked up the stairs to her home. Nick and Mel stopped in front of her door. He took her hands in his, looked her straight in the eye, and said, "Mel this is the right thing to do. I'm gonna start to listen to my heart, and my heart tells me that you are the one I should be with."
"Nick, you don't know how glad I am to here you say that," she whispered before pulling him closer for a goodnight kiss. They pulled away, and he promised to call her tomorrow.
"I'll see you tomorrow, at the beach. Gooodnight, 'til tomorrow." Nick sais taking her hand and kissing it lightly.
"Until tomorrow," Mel softly responded, closing the door to her apartment as she watched him turn and run down the stairs.
***Back In Becca's Bathroom***
Becca tossed his shirt over to the side of the bath tub, exposing every inch of his muscular chest. She ran her fingers over the ribs of his stomach, wanting more of him with every touch. Kevin closed his eyes, savoring the way her hands felt along his body. Unsure of her bath tub expectations, Kev longed to touch her soft skin, which was displayed under a thin layer of bubble. She moved her hands to his face, delicately outlining his thin, but extremely kissable lips. He enclosed his lips around her finger, running his tongue along her fingertip. She removed her finger from his mouth, bringing her head closer to his lips. She kissed him, her tongue colliding with his...intertwining with every motion. She pulled away breathless, and handed him her bath sponge. "Kev, do you think you could do my back for me? It's hard for me to reach." Delighted by her request he took to sponge from her soapy hands, while she turned in the tub so her back would face him. without a word, he slowly moved the sponge from her neck down to her lower back, pausing to give her the occasional kiss. These sudden kisses shot pangs of wild excitment through her body. She decided that she had soaked long enough. She wanted Kevin and she needed him now. Turning back to face Kev, she asked him to hand her a towel. He got up from his kneeling position on the floor, and took a towel that hung on the back of the door. She stepped out of the tub, dripping... Kev smiled as he took in the sight of her bare, wet body. He thought to himself, "I love her so much...is it possible for me to want her so bad". He felt the excitement rise over his entire body. He wrapped the towel around her sexy body, brushing his lips past her ear as he whispered, "I love you". She held him close, and whispered those same words to him. He moved his lips to the edge of the towel. Her body pressed against his. Unable to hold back the sensation he felt along his body, he waited no longer. He scooped her up, towel and all, and carried her out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. He layed her on the bed, and kissed her deeply. Her own lips trailed from his mouth to his chest, and she began to move her way down to the waist line of his pants. As she reached to unzip his zipper, he quietly asked, "Bec...i know you love me. But are you sure?" She nodded yes. With that, he was relieved to get free of his crowding pants. She kissed him once more with a passion, a desire....a mission. She inched her way down to his boxers and.......
***Back in Michelle's Apartment***
She layed awake in bed, tossing and turning. She thoght to herself, "What am I gonna do? I promised him I wouldn't write the article, so I can't. But my boss is out for a story...a story i CAN'T give him. I can't stop thinking about Brian. My emotions are all over the place. All I know is that I can't wait to see him tomorrow...especaily in his bathing suit.
***At the Same Time***
Brian looked at himself in the mirror, he spoke aloud to himself, "Man, what did I do? I fell for a reporter. She's just too damn cute. I believe that she won't write the story. She said she wouldn't, so I trust her. i do. I trust her because she gave me her word. And i believe her. All I can do is think of when I can see her tomorrow. I wonder how she's gonna look in her bathing suit?" he added with a slightly seductive grin.
