I stared at her for a minute, then turned my head back to where I had thought I'd seen AJ. He was still there. I quickly regained my composure.
"Okay, I wasn't hallucinating."
Everyone laughed.
"So, what are we gonna do now?" Nick asked as AJ knelt beside me.
"Think you can get up?" he asked, sliding his arm behind my shoulders and supporting me.
"Yeah, I'll be okay," I said, pushing myself up.
Of course, as I did so, I twisted my shattered leg.
"Ow ow ow!" I yelped, half falling back.
AJ caught me.
"Whoa, careful. Don't move too fast this time."
Slowly, with help, I was on my feet, leaning heavily against AJ's shoulder. Kevin, Howie, and Nick turned away from their discussion.
"We're going to go through the plane again and try to see if the radio's working, but I doubt it will," Kevin said, "Then we're going to find a source of fresh water - cause I don't think 2 water bottles are gonna last 7 people that long."
I laughed. "Only if we each take a drop per day."
Howie smiled grimly. "That's the point. That's why we're leaving, to find a better supply."
They went through the plane - all except Kristy and I, because of our injuries. The guys were pretty beat up, too, but mostly just cuts and bruises. Some of the cuts were pretty bad - Kev had a huge, bloody, painful-looking gash across his forehead, and Howie's hand had nearly been taken off, but they were okay. I guess first-class seats are safer - hehe. But they went through the plane and didn't find anything, so it was time to leave.
~*~Kristy's POV~*~
"Wait, what about me? I can't exactly walk right now," Korin stated.
"We're ditching you, sorry," I replied teasingly.
She stuck her tongue out at me, and I stuck mine back out at her. The guys just looked at us, trying not to crack up.
"Oh my god, there are actually GIRLS more immature than Nick and Brian!" Kev said.
We all burst out laughing.
"Ok guys, go without me, I'll keep Korin company," AJ said.
All of the guys exchanged looks.
"Alright, Howie and Nick, come with me, Kristy and Brian, go in another direction. That way no one has to be alone," Kev said.
"Poor Kristy," Nick commented.
"Yeah, be easy on her Rok," AJ added.
"Hey!" Brian said in mock insult.
"Don't worry, I can handle him," I replied.
"Well Kristy, you better have a really good sense of direction," Howie said.
"Oh trust me, she does, with my sense of direction, she's had to have a good one," Korin said.
"Ok guys, can we stop picking on me and actually start looking?" Brian broke in.
"Aw B-Rok, but it's so much fun," Nick replied.
"No guys, he's right. We're wasting time and it's gonna be night before we know it," I said, coming to Brian's defense.
They all had to agree.
"Come on Kristy, let's go, they're all IDIOTS!" Bri said, putting a hand on my back and pushing me in one direction.
