16th Car - '89 Mazda B2200 extra cab pickup. I drove one of these at work, and it was a great truck. We needed a truck around the house, so I bought this one thinking it would be just as reliable as my company truck. Wrong. What a pile. We did have fun camping in the shell at the beach once, though. |
17th Car - '96 Honda Accord lx 5 speed. It was actually kind of tough finding one the color I wanted with a 5 speed. They are 98% automatics. Tammy & I drove the Mazda pickup all the way to Sacramento, then found this car back in Corning and traded the truck right there. I have no complaints so far. I've logged around 25 thousand miles on it in the last 5-6 months and it hasn't flinched. The manual tranny is nice when merging but can be a pain in parts of San Francisco. This car was Vandalized in San Bruno, and the interior destroyed in a botched-theft attempt. |
18th Car - The gold car just wasn't doing it for me so I began looking at 2001 Mustangs (Bullitt edition!). The pricetag wasn't justifiable, so the least expensive rear-wheel drive car I could find was a Miata. I found this one in San Francisco via Yahoo classifieds. The color combo is actually kind of rare, 463 out of 431,543 (miata.net info). This car is extremely fun to drive, the convertible top is just a bonus. I drove it for two years and made an extra thousand when it sold. NEXT PAGE |
