Dear Mr. Smith,
I'd like to start by letting you know that I am a life long fan of
yours.  I've been watching your show since I was very young.  You would
always make me laugh with your whimsical attitude.  I attribute much of
my interest in cooking to you.  Now I am twenty-one years old and a full
time college student.  I am the president of the cooking club on campus
and a founding member of that club. This semester I have expressed to
the administration that it would be a great honor if you would visit our
campus.  I have secured funds which would pay for your transportation
and you would be housed in the best accommodations on campus.  We would
prepare the meal of your choice and eat it with the entire club.  The
date would, of course, be entirely up to you.  We could accommodate you
for any long or short length of time as long as school is in session.
I'd like to thank you very much for your time and I would be much in
debt to you if you simply replied to this letter.  I'm looking forward
to hearing from you.  Thank you very much.
