Meredith played an awesome concert in her good 'ol hometown of Corvallis, Oregon in America. The following review and pictures come courtesy from Glenn, thanks a lot mate!!:)

The Concert in Corvallis was a
Benefit Concert for the
Heartland Humane Society. The
Heartland Humane Society is
raising money for a 5,500
square foot education center to
educate children on how to take
care of pets and a building to
house pets waiting to be
adopted. The proceeds from the
concert will go to help pay for
this.
The two acts' that preceded Brooks were 10-Dollar Mic, and Floater. Between acts I spoke with Mayor Helen Berg who introduced me to Meredith's Mother Jan and Sister Leslie. I was also able to see Vicki (one of Meredith's assistants) and give her a hug. She was released from the hospital so she could attend the concert; she was involved in a car accident one month prior to the concert.
It was time for Meredith to take center stage, and she did with a vengeance, she started off by singing 'My Little town', Shatter... She was given an OSU basketball shooting shirt by the women's basketball team, she wore for the first three songs, and it had 'Brooks' written on the back. She gave a powerful performance on "Wash my Hands" and then later on she surprised the crowd by singing a new song from her upcoming CD called 'High Anxiety Girl'. This was an excellent song. She also mentioned that 'Sin City' from the movie 'Snake Eyes' would also be on the new CD.
When the concert was over I managed to go backstage, When I went backstage she was doing a photo shoot with the OSU women's basketball team, after the photo shoot she autographed each of their T-shirts. Then it was my turn (I believe she remembered me from the Las Vegas concert). She took me into the other room, where she looked through my photo album. (The photo album had pictures from previous concerts). She commented on several of the pictures while looking through the album. When she was done, The friend that I was with was anxious for her to sign the picture of her and I that was taken at the Las Vegas concert. But of course she has more class than that and autographed the book, by signing the inside front cover
The next day she spoke at Corvallis high (her alma mater). She said she had a great time at Corvallis High, she ended up spending the whole afternoon there. They called a special Assembly so she spoke to the whole school. She said she absolutely loved it.
In Summary: The concert was excellent, and the next CD (due out summer of 1999) should be a great follow up to her debut CD 'Blurring the Edges'. There's more to Meredith Brooks than singing, songwriting, and guitars; There's also a great Person behind it all.
