well, for all those who have been on the net, surfing around for more Meredith fandom, well, you'll know the same 'ol story, but, for those who are totally oblivious about the wonder that is Meredith, here's a brief, hum, I'd say story about Meredith, summarising her career! ( taken from my study and other articles on the web…) Meredith Anne Brooks was born on June 12th 1958, in Oregon and was grown up in Corvallis in America. She learned to play the guitar when she was 11 and graduated from high school a year early when she was 15. Since then, she has been in a number of bands and in the 90's, namely the Graces which released an album 'A Perfect View' , which is a great album so to speak. She made a move to L.A and took time out to seek help and did volunteering work. She realised she had a gift with communicating with people, she applied this to her songs when she created her album in her producers home in 1996, where she sings all the vocals and plays all the guitars. Meredith Brooks' album, Blurring The Edges, is a unique album, which can deal with many aspects of life. Within each song, deep meanings can evolve some how or another, which for some people, have helped them with their problems with the world today, be it relationships or the materialistic needs of complex life - be sure to pick it up, it's a cool, cool album.
"Every word, everything is true on this album. There's no projection, no third person. It's a pure autobiography, I just did it in music instead of a book."-M.Brooks quote from My Launch interview.
The songs 'I Need', 'Bitch', and What Would Happen' have been released in the US as well as Europe and the rest of the world, and hopefully, a new album will come out maybe next year, ( so, so looking forward to that!!;)) So, it's no doubt last year you've heard the cry of Meredith singing "I'm a BITCH!, I'm a Lover, I'm a Child, I'm a mother" - but don't restrict her style to that one song, pick up the album, you'll see!!;)…or just visit some of the other cool Meredith sites for sound clips!!
